Talk about anything that has to do with the amusement park industry here.

Couple of Questions

1. What are the maximum amounts of G Forces allowed on rides and coasters in the US

2. What ride at our park has the highest g forces

3. What Coaster(s) in the US have the most g forces

Woohoo 300th post :D :D :D

1. I don't think there is any law on what is max. I believe most parks desire to keep their coasters under 4, but some may run as high as 6. I heard somewhere that Shockwave was running around 6 at the end of it's life. I was very close to completely passing out on it many times, even when I was in the prime of my life in my early-mid 20's.
2. I would guess Batman and that it is somewhere in the 3.5 - 4 g range.
3. The highest ones I believe I have ridden would include Montu, Goliath at MM, and I305 at Kings Dominion. Those are the ones I gray out on and ride from the front knowing this. I305 had ridiculous forces in row 4 even with the trims when I rode it last fall in the cold. I'm sure this is the reason the right hand turn after the drop was reprofiled over the winter. That's where I felt it too. Goliath at Magic Mountain is in the following article that someone recently posted here.

I don't gray out on much and I was recently taught a fighter pilot technique that I am trying to perfect. It's certainly seems more challenging to prevent grayouts as I age. Hot weather and dehydration also contribute to gray/black outs.

Yeah, I don't think there is a law that limits G's, though in Jersey there is a law, but it takes into account the max G's and the time you are subjected to them, The highest G's I can think of are Dreier Loioping (now in mexico) and Mindbender in Edmonton which are basically clones of each other which top out around 6.5 G's.

I think at SFGAm the highest G force probably occurs for a split second on Demon, entering the loops quite suddenly. Nothing at SFGAm is unusually forceful. I think the highest G force for the longest sustained time probably occurs on Goliath at SFMM or Titan at SFOT.

If I had to take a shot in the dark I'd say the highest peak of G force probably occurs during rough points on the large Arrow Loopers, I'd guess there is a split-split second on a few that probably gets you up to probably 30-40 G's. Keep in mind though that jumping into a chair subjects you to around 40 G's for a fraction of a second.
