Whats one coaster you always wanted to ride?

Talk about anything that has to do with the amusement park industry here.
Postby MrRy10 on May 23rd, 2011, 10:47 am
Mine would probably be Ultra twister. It was located in Six Flags Astro World but now that park is closed and cant ride it :? . Unless i go to japan and ride it there.

But what coaster you always wanted to ride?

Deja Vu or Shockwave, I never rode scary roller coasters when they were still at the park

My top park to visit is Alton Towers due to their surprising creativity with the restrictions they have...so all the rides there.

As for a solo answer... oddly enough, the now 2 reverse free fall coasters by the names of: Superman-Escape from Krypton & Tower of Terror 2. Superman was closed when I went to SFMM in 2004, & it broke my heart. Now Ill never ride the original way obv, so Im wondering if I lost out on that 6.5sec of weightlessness. However, I gotta say, with the effects of the tunnel, TOT2 looks brilliant!

Moonsault Scramble at Fujiku Highland, mainly because it had a reputation for being extremely intense. Random fact, it was also the worlds first coaster over 200 feet tall regardless of what Cedar Points marketing department thinks.

I really enjoyed all of the arrow mega-coasters (Shockwave, GASM, Vortex, Viper) so i'm sure I would have enjoyed the Phantom also. Steel Phantom looked like the ultimate Arrow mega-looper, though Phantom's Revenge i'm sure is an amazing hypercoaster.

The most realistic "should but don't have" for me is Timbers. Never bothered going because I can't think of any other reason i'd want to head out that far into Michigan except for one roller coaster. If I were old enough in the late 90s I wouldve taken the trip but now with so many other great wooden coasters out there Timbers went on the backburner (but I have gotten on Voyage, El Toro, Thunderhead, etc which in return has me far to lazy too make that long trip just for Timbers). I'd also really like to ride Nemesis at Alton Towers because I love old B&M coasters and it looks very well themed, and X:/ No Way Out at Thorpe Park, just to experience how cheesy it is.

so Im wondering if I lost out on that 6.5sec of weightlessness

You didn't miss out on anything other than saying you rode it before it was re-done. Dealing with that line and having to wait for that small car to load, launch, come back, reload, etc a bunch of times wasnt worth the frustration of even bothering to check the wait time or get in line. Ive been to SFMM many times and rode it once and never even bothered to check the wait time any other times. Afterall they have Terminator, X2, Riddler, BTR, Viper, DejaVu, Tatsu, Goliath, Scream. STE was near the bottom of the barrel of their coaster lineup. The only reason I would ever go to near STE was for it's nextdoor neighbor, Ninja, which is a great suspened terrain coaster.

BP/19 those coaster looks amazing. Steel phantom looks like a good steel coaster and timber with those hills looks like you would get tons of Airtime :D
Great choice on coasters :)

That's easy- the Turn Of the Century, before it was transformed into the Demon in 1980. I was there in 1977, but was too scared to ride it then. I heard the two airtime hills were amazing.

I also always wanted to make it out someday to Magic Mountain to ride the Z-force again, but now it's too late.

If I had to pick ONE that I could ride at this second, it would have to be X2 at Six Flags Magic Mountain.
Have a take and don't suck, it's the Jim Rome Show!

Do you mean something pops out at you? Or does the head of the hippogriff move?

Z-Force

or one I would have liked to gone back and rode again:

The Flying Coaster from Elitch Gardens. This is probably the roller coaster I would talk the most about because no one I knew around here had been there. I really liked the spiral lift hill and when I was there it was still a Six Flags, so I thought it easily could have been a Superman-themed roller coaster.

^THey have a similiar if not exact one at Canada's Wonderland Time Warp. I heard those were really Uncomfortable and had slow boarding which makes sense as their only 4 person cars

Flying Coaster was relocated this year to Luna Park at Coney Island in NYC if you really want to ride it, though it really was terrible.

Not too many really. I would say maybe Spongebob (in the mall) and Aftershock (just to see how it's really running over there).

For flats though (even though your not asking), I would say Scorpion, Remix, Skydiver sort of, Top Star Tour, and Tango.
