3 year old dies in roller coaster accident in Norridge

Talk about anything that has to do with the amusement park industry here.
Postby SfGaMownz on April 4th, 2011, 1:00 am
Just happened to come across this now, but apparently two 3 year old twin brothers were riding a children's roller coaster called the Python Pit at the Go Banana's indoor amusement park in Norridge on Saturday. Then somehow one of the brothers got out from under his restraint and ended up getting caught in-between two of the cars and fell to the ground suffering head injuries and was pronounced dead on the scene. Tragic accident even more tragic that his twin brother had to witness all of this sitting next to him, my condolences go out to the family for their loss.

Very sad to hear this. A tragic accident for the family and the establishment.

I wouldn't be shocked to see the nets that Universal uses on their kiddie coaster at IOA come to other junior coasters. Not much cost and they can help prevent accidents from happening.

I Have a Question, Why was a Parent not on the Coaster if the Kid was Scared?

I Feel sorry OK, That the Kid died falling 8 feet on a Coaster.

HOWEVER, I will only feel sorry if the family doesn't sue the park.

^If you ever felt bad, you would have been basically laughing at the death. No reprieve from being a douche here.

Isn't 3 years old just a tad bit young to be going on any coaster or ride?? If any kid that age wants to go on any ride for any reason, a parent must and should ride along with the child. Restraint's should be like our own park, you know an actual restraint where you cant unbuckle it or take it off, thats why its called a restraint in the first place...to RESTRAIN you from getting off and falling/flying off.

But this is a real sad story. My condolences go to the family. :(

^The coaster does have actual lapbar restraints. Small children tend to be limber due to the fact their bones are not fully solidified.

Very sad :( yeah that place is pretty close to my house. And its really easy to get out of the restraints on the coaster there. It should be more secure even though its not that big of a ride, still and there should be a age limit on the ride. Since little kids are smaller
