Glow in the Parak parade gone for 2011?

Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.

A new post from Screamscape as follows:

"The latest update about the rumored evening show coming to SFGAm has received a new twist. With the Glow parade returning this summer, it didn’t quite make sense for a new big outdoor spectacle to be added as well, but now I’m told that the new show will actually be something shown indoors. More on this as we find out."

Hmmm....if that new supposed laser show is indoors I'll be greatly disappointed. Well, I don't know if there is any sort of ordinance about shooting lasers in the sky, but if thats the case then meh. :? Maybe its not part of the laser show, if the rumors are true. Hopefully this new thing comes true, at least so the park can get something new. Lets not get our hopes up entirely just yet folks.

This is why I usually never get my hopes up when it comes to rumors, and they're called rumors for a reason. But anyway here's the latest from Screamscape:

"The latest insider buzz claims that the proposed special show we’ve been hearing rumors about is now canned for the 2011 season due to budget problems. It may be back for 2012 however, but nothing is certain."

Not surprised here.  :x

I wonder how much this water park is costing to build out...10 million +?
I guess as long as it does not cut into the coaster funding for next year
I believe that season pass sales are down based on the economy, the fact they they are offering new things like free financing for 3 months and the fact that most people I know still have not ordered because they did not even know that they are getting a water park expansion (SFGAm poor marketing). To have both their official site and Facebook have nothing added about it since last fall is weak.

I'm suprised they even tried creating a new show for this upcoming season. With the construction on Rip Tide Bay (which doesn't seem to have made much progress. Was just there yesterdy checking out progress) along with the removal of BNP as welll as other prep work for the 2011 season. That seems like alot to do with only less than 2 months until opening day.
Can't live without Coasters!!!

They're all separate departments and they all do their own thing.

/\ Not really, any project of something new requires an onslaught of people that come into the fold that are all on the payroll. If it won't provide immediate financial results then there is no point to adding a bunch of major things in the same year. This is why it was stupid to build V2 and DejaVu in the same season, attendance would have gone up whether had they built one or two new coasters and they ended up with 2 major headaches.

Well, I'm assuming once the water park gets remodeled these next months, us dry park enthusiasts will start to see better additions and improvements in the coming years. I mean when was the last time Hurricane harbor got anything re-done or added or remodeled? Maybe once this is done, they wont touch Hurricane Harbor for the next few years?

That could have been a great season turned into a disaster. :(
