That video is just plan FREAKY! It gave me goosebumps! The park looks like it could even be HAUNTED! It is also very sad at the same time. Mixed emotions on this one.
I too have mixed emotions on this video. There have been a couple photo updates over the years on the creepy sadly abandoned park but this video takes that sadness & errieness to the next level.
Though I have never been, I went down to N.O, LA. to rebuild houses in 2007 for the Katrina Relief Effort & we passed SFNO...it was very sad. My point is, though I have never been to the park itself, seein pics & especially watchin this video, makes me very teary eyed & heartbroken so to speak. There's a sadness about an abandoned left to rot amusement/ themepark. A place that once brought joy, laughter, happiness & memories is forever gone.

Couldn't agree with you more. On the positive side, BTR made it out.
"I've been told that some part of every wish will be heard but lately I lost sight of the truth in those words."
Yes it did... & when that B&M was there under the title of Batman-the ride, I thought it had the BEST paintjob out of all the BTRs. Then again, Now, it looks great in my opinion as Goliath at SFFT. Its so vibrant & is one of my favorite paint schemes on any coaster
^If you have ever dealt with a water/flood claim, you would understand why. It's even worse when wind was involved. The insurance companies try to say "wind caused then damage to the ride, but water caused this damage to the same ride." and then short change you. Even worse is most of the time they offer a settlement that ranges from 45%-75% of the true claim value.
Has anyone heard that the park will NOT be demolished now. It seems the city of New Orlean's says they had no plans of the park being demolished in January of next year.
Little shocking to me as to why it will be staying. The park has had previous offers on renovating the place but they have all been turned down. How much longer are they willing to wait?
Even if they were to renovate the park, most of it would need to be demolished anyway. From what I've heard most of those rides are a lost cause at this point, and the buildings have (as you can see in the video) been completely lost. Six Flags won't pay for it, and I doubt New Orleans will foot the bill.
The park will be demolished when the funds show up for it is my guess.
Also, the city said the person did not have permission to enter the park.

Add on to all this the fact that the park never turned so much as a dime in profit ever in it's existence. That is the main if not only reason SF didn't go and rebuild the park.
