SFNE Fright Fest PTR - 10/2/10

Let us know how your day at the park was.
Postby acquaz10 on October 3rd, 2010, 11:41 am
Fright Fest started today and the park was pretty crowded. Considering that the Big E usually takes away attendance from SFNE I'm surprised to see it was still crowded, its the last weekend for the Big E, which is MA state fair. Everything was open except for Houdini which is a haunted house for Fright Fest and water rides. The fire is indeed gone from Bizarro and all the effects were working besides that. I didn't get to check out Hangar 18 because it opened at dusk... But it has cool theming on the outside! Lets get to the pictures (which I didn't take mine. The photographer for SFNEOnline did. I'm just posting them):

Image
I count 7 Flags. To many. I think they've gone to far.

Image
Best Fright Fest decorations ever. Wacky, Waving, Inflatable, Arm-flailing, Tube-ghosts = Awesomeness!!!

Image
I had a pun but it was to stupid so I won't write it.

Image
This is the first scare zone. Main St. Graveyard

Image
During the day its supposed to be family friendly, at night it has fog and stuff. Next lets check out Area 51!

Image
Noted!

Image
So this is what they were talking about on Facebook on how a "meteor" crashed into town square in Rockville. "Meteor."

Image
Thar she blows! Its Hangar 18. I'm dying to know whats inside.

Image
And about those Government agents? Yeah its just that the MiB arrived to kick some ass. I mean look at that gun.

Image
Barrels = theming. (You didn't believe me when I said it had amazing theming did you?)

Image
Sexy. They got this MiB mannequin from Victoria's Secret.

Image
And peeping Tom over here is waiting for her to get back into her bra and panties...

Image
And this dudes just chillen'.

Image
While going to ride Bizarro we noticed that Rt. 66 got some FF theming. in my opinion it should be renamed Rt. 666 for FF but thats not family friendly...

This view will be totally different next year. Cell picture.

Image
Yay! Bizarro still has its "themed" propane tank. That must mean something right!?!

Image
And look there's still poles where the fire came out. Ahh but what you don't know is they removed the pilot I think its called, and that was the most important part.

Image
"Me no happy you take fire. Me knock tree! Bizarro SMASH!!!" See even Bizarro's upset he lost his fire breathing abilities

Image
That won't end well. I guarantee you a kid will throw a those spider webs on someone on the midway. Lmao.

Image
Now to my personal favorite Fright Fest area, Tombstone Terrortory.

Image
Midnight Mansion is in Houdini's building and overflow queue

Image
You get you're tickets in Rodeo's old spot. Great use of space SFNE.

Image
Two things. Rodeo's spot and something Kentucky Kingdom fanboys might notice. I don't know if its actually from KK but it looks like it.

Image
Scary

Image
This got some laughs from me. But I'm still happy we're getting another coaster.

Image
Another great use of a space previously occupied by a flat/upcharge SFNE.

Image
Looks like new management is still into advertising

Image
Yup

Image
OMG that sounds amazing!!

Image
How can it fit in this little thing?

Image
Oh its just a small puny thing. Okay. Still pretty cool to see a white aligator though.

Image
Last look at Mr. Six's Splash Island before it most likely gets rethemed.

Image
I thought this was a good picture to end this Fright Fest update. But again, 7 flags. Or do American flags not count during FF?

More pictures that go in depth with the shows and stuff will be up late on SFNEOnline.ORG. The site is relaunching under .ORG now after it crashed. So you should look for that later if you want to see more. Thanks for reading.

That Jack O Lantern SFKK stoled from us (SFGAm), and you now you have it unless they have multiple ones, but again though we don't have one anymore! We have those aliens in Area 51 (At least had those aliens before. I didn't check out Area 51 by us yet.). We have a flying saucer too. I like those men / woman in black or secret service type of alien type of stuff compared to what we have is military people. We also have those ghost inflatable things in Yukon Territory. We don't have theming on the train, or the antique cars anymore as they are closed, so I wonder if another park took that stuff because if the Jack-O-Lantern moves from park to park, maybe some of this other stuff does too.

This is interesting seeing the differences, and similarities. Thanks for posting this. Do you guys do any themed rides? The Hangar is in front of your Top Spin, but I don't know if the ride works, or is that just a Haunted House thing, and the ride is closed?

I guess we've had the pumpkin for a while. I just didn't realize it. Lol. We got some more aliens from Kentucky Kingdom though, I've confirmed that. Inside the walk through we have infected scientists that got infected from the aliens.

All the theming you see on our antique cars has been there in the best. Our Fright Fest has been exactly the same from year to year. It hasn't changed since 2005 so we know everything pretty good haha. Only thing different this year was the inflatable ghosts and MiB.

GAm is the only SF park with themed rides. TAKE PRIDE IN THAT! Yeah the Topspin is stil open but its a crap trailer model and no one rides it.

To go to SFNE Online and check out more pics go here. http://sfneonline.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=17 Some are repeats of others, but as I said, its the creator/photographer of SFNEOnline pictures. I was just posting them here. You can see a total of 92 pictures! Go to that link and join if you want. Thanks!
