Many may find this odd, but my big brother figure, who lives in Texas & I adore SF parks, cause its what we grew up with. Well we do neat little stuff for eachother sendin one another maps & quizes about our parks & whatnot. Well its my turn to send somethin, & he is REALLY into SFGAm & I don't think I can stump him so I'm askin all of you what Interesting facts you have. For example I have these fun"facts": "what is the name of a 4D rumor we have had" "what ride was new for 2004, brought to us from SFGAdv?" Just silly stuff like that.
I need basic stuff like that, but also things that we mainly know due to news or even gossip. Haha. I want all categories from usual to silly thanks guys, you're awesome*
4D rumor was called "project tumbleweed" never really had much life to it. In 2004 we got what is now Revolution from SFGAV, it was also the same year the Mardi Grais section came about. Don't know what else your looking for in facts hope that helps.
The Yankee Harbor flag pole is in Hurricane Harbor. In Hurricane Harbor, there are a ton of shapes on the ground. There are turtles which are the most obvious. There are lobsters, fish, sea shells like this http://www.24ph.com/photos/ipap-photos/ ... shells.jpg and palm branch leaves which are more abundant on the ground. There are crabs around the Lazy River (These things there are much less than the above things) , and there are a different types of seashells http://naplesseashellcompany.com/fiber_ ... shells.JPG which are mostly by Skull Island.
There is one leaf that I know of on the ground and it's right in back of the wavepool (in back of where all those chairs are path), but it is sort of towards the right middle. I don't know what type of leave it is because I don't know leaves much, but it is one.
Waterpark is 7100 capacity which is the same amount as Magic Waters in Rockford. I think Condor came from Great Adventure. Viper and Space Shuttle America took up extra parking lot when they were put in. Fiddler's Fling used to have a lighted thing in the middle, but that's gone. American Eagle tent was held for a circus. Where Dare Devil Dive is (skyscraper thing), Big Top used to be there (makes sense with the name Big Top doesn't it?), and than they moved it to Southwest Territory to put Dare Devil there now called Ricochet.
They used to be skeletons in about every other car for Fright Fest for Sky Whirl. Roaring Rapids uses some Astroworld boats. The boats that are a darker yellow are Astro World boats. V2 has 96 wheels. On the some of the wheels, it says they are made in 11/28/2000. Dark Knight has Deja Vu's box outside when they usually hand out those boarding passes. Deja Vu sign poles are still around by Buccaneer Battle - just painted. In Buccaneer Battle's sign, they have Deja Vu's colors. Deja Vu opened in October 2001.
They took out Rue Le Dodge lines (on the left side). The "boardwalk" part of the V2's line used to be an actual walkway when Whirligig was in that location. Karoake used to be in Mardi Gras, but they moved it to County Fair. When they built Mardi Gras, they tore down the Gazebo where they used to have Looney Tunes shows, and than made another stage. The Gazebo area is now Big Easy Balloons. I think after the accident with SFA's Octopus, they added seatbelts to East River Crawler. Batman the Ride's line used to go past the Cajun Cliffhanger. There was a pathway there. Where Whirligig is now, they had the Batman car all to itself. And during Fright Fest, they had the Freak Show there. Now, it's in Necropolis. They are storing some of the Glow in the Park Parade floats in the Dark Knight ride. I see some of them in there. Viper used to have a crate with a snake / moving bag that moved in the rafters. Viper was sponsored by Roller Coaster Tycoon before. River Rocker used to have water underneath it. Demon used to have a waterfall as everyone knows that already. The train is the longest ride in the park while Sky Trek Tower is the 2nd longest.

Haha I knew this stuff, those were the two example I gave that I already had(the questions, not answers). I was just usin those as examples.
Thank you for the huge answer there "ilovethevu", keep it up if anyone knows more. Even if I already know them, or they're obvious, everything helps. I'm mailin it out tomorrow
The mardi gras look I def see...but it saddens me comparin Disney to any other park, whether things were modeled after it or not, no one does it better than them haha. But interesting.

From rcdb.com - Condor (Huss - Condor) in Orleans Place. Originally from Six Flags Great Adventure (Jackson, NJ) where it operated from 1988-1990. http://www.rcdb.com/4530.htm?t=308
The Condor from Magic Mountain from 1988 - 1989 I think most likely would have went to Great Escape, but I think it first went to Astroworld in 1991, and only lasted a year there. Link Condor at Astroworld http://www.sixflagshouston.com/timeline/
It says on some other website that St. Louis had one too. It lasted a year in 1988. Geesh, that ride exchange program was such a dumb idea wasting money on transporting these rides. La Ronde has one, but Six Flags didn't buy the park till 2001, and that Condor came in 1990, so that's out. I'm just assuming Morey's Pier, or Hersheypark bought one from Six Flags. Hersheypark, it says their Falcon came in the 1990s, so they could have changed the name. I don't konw.

I was thinking at first which one is it: Magic Mountain or Great Adventure, so no problem on that.

I mailed it out today, thanks for all the info. I put all sorts of stuff on there including stuff hed only know like "what WAS my favorite ride in the park?" -dejavu so yeah. But nonetheless, this is still a great topic so keep it up if yall want cause I think its interesting.
When I first visted the park in 1979, Willard's Whizzer (now just Whizzer) used to have a four train operation. I do not remember if the trains were one car shorter though. In normal operation (from a spectators viewpoint) there would be one train loading in the station, another on the 3rd spiral on the way up, where it would be passing a train in the opposite direction on the wraparound piece of track (which had just come off of the ground hugging turn, and would be heading towards the 2nd half of ride), and there would be one train coming onto the brake run/already stopped. They have not run more than 3 trains since probably the very early eighties though. I believe it had to do with break run issues more so at the Santa Clara park, where I know there were a number of accidents and at least one fatality.
Condor was also in the ride-rotation program...I believe it debuted at Six Flags Over Mid America, (now Six Flags St. Louis) before it got shipped off to NJ.
The Orbit was once the Orleans Orbit and had it's station near the old "Traffique Jam" car ride in "Orleans Place", Orbit was moved across the park near The Demon, and the car ride was removed for "White Water Rampage" The "Southern Cross" sky ride and Davy Jones Dinghies used to be located in that vicinity as well.
A question of the whizzer. It looks like maybe in the very early years that it had two operator houses (one still be used) and it also looks like it was able to load one train, while another one was unloading behind it (Like Millennium Force) . Today when there is a train in the station and another one comes in the station and stops, it looks like you could exit. Don't know if that is true or what I am describing makes sense, but I have been wondering that for a while.
That is correct. Back when Whizzer still ran 5 trains, the Transfer area served as an unload platform, and the booth at the rear had a control panel in it. At the front of the former unload area (near the current enable panel), there used to be a section of metal floor that allowed the first car to unload and could fold up to accommodate the transferring of trains.
