I fail to see why people are upset that we are not getting a second B&M stand-up coaster. Isn't the biggest reason people on this site complain about TDK the fact that we already had a wild mouse?

Some people used that. Most wanted Chang because unlike dual wild mice, 2 standups would be a little more thrilling.
Was it crowded Saturday or Sunday (whatever day you went to the park)?

One truck at a tiiime
....more than two months apart.
The transportation industry is all about costs. Why pay close to $4,000 to send a (non critical) piece of a coaster, when they can wait until they have something else coming to Gam on a flatbed, and re-utilize that truck for atleast half the costs.
I have a very close working relationship with Six Flags, their internal transportation bid portal, and their main transportation company. I can tell you Six Flags has challenged them with reducing costs or seeing the door.

WAH WAH WAH we're getting an expansion for the 2011 season I'm mad!
Seriously guys, this is the reason nobody at the park listens to what any of us have to say, because they spend money adding new stuff nearly every year and all we do (collectively as a community) is complain. Why is it that we can't be happy getting new things? Sure maybe a water park expansion is not what we as coaster enthusiasts wanted but I know that I'm certainly looking forward to being able to finally try one of those surf machines. Not to mention an expansion like this one is great for boosting attendance which leads to more money for more future expansions (perhaps another roller coaster at some point) So let's just be happy we have one of the best parks in the chain.
As for Chang, oh well we don't get to add a used roller coaster to our collection of roller coasters that already included a roller coaster of the exact same type and manufacturer.
I've said it before, and I agree with most people when we say "we don't need another roller coaster" As awesome as that would be, it's just not logical. I would much rather see out current roller coasters get the well-needed rehab.....Great America has some of the oldest rides in the chain.
The only way I see Great America getting another roller coaster is if one is lost in exchange.

We don't need a roller coaster, but ask anyone (coaster enthusiast and regular park goer alike) and they WANT a roller coaster. So I don't know how it's illogical to put in a roller coaster. I for one could care less about the Hurricane Harbor expansion, but there will be people who will come solely for the new slides. More than would come for a new large roller coaster? Not by a longshot. Overall it's a small step in the right direction money-wise.
like I said though, Six Flags could satisfy the "want" for a roller coaster....but some people will have to disappointed eventually because 14 Coasters is a little.....overkill.

Six flags via face book posted this : SFGAmworld.com Six Flags Great Adventure (New Jersey) to open "Green Lantern," formerly Chang, in 2011 replacing Great American Scream Machine

You go to a theme park to ride roller coasters and have fun because you WANT to. You ride a roller coaster over and over because you WANT to. You try every seat on a roller coaster because you WANT to. We constantly complain and beg because we WANT a new roller coaster. You do not go to a theme park because you need to! If the people who love Raging Bull looked at this site and constantly read everything that was happening, Six Flags would be having major trouble with support and customers. The families are fine with a waterpark. BUT, do families spend over $800 a year there? NO! The teens do this! They are the ones looking for new thrills and chasing new roller coasters! For some odd reason Six Flags is listening to families. They are not paying as much as we are (at least not most of them). Again, it is not a matter that we need a roller coaster as much as we want SOME sort of thrill filling the spot! Most of us could care less about a new water slide and a surf machine. If we wanted that we could go to the DELLS IN WISCONSIN! For those of you that think that it's all about needing a new coaster to the Six Flags Corp., you're right. BUT you do not go to an amusement park spending hundreds of $ a year to get something you don't WANT.
Last Visit, American Eagle BACKWARDS 5 times in a row right before the park closed. I cannot WAIT to go back for Fright Fest!
The Only way teens spend $800 at the park is a if a group of them from there 8th grade graduation class buys tickets. And there the school gets a great discount on group rates.
