Cedar Point 8/2-8/4

Let us know how your day at the park was.

I just got back from my vacation to Ohio and I had to post my amazing Trip Report from Cedar Point. I left Illinois the morning of the 2nd at 8 Am and drove 6 hours to Cedar Point, Ohio!

Day 1: When I got there, I checked into the Breakers Inn and got a starlight pass so I could get in to the park that night. When I got to the park I went straight to Raptor! I got on it in 15 minutes and when I got to the station I went to my favorite row on B&M Inverted roller coasters, row 5. It was amazing and in my opinion, better then Batman The Ride. At about 5:30 I headed towards Top Thrill Dragster which was an hour wait. I decided to go on the ride now instead of risking any longer of a wait later. After about and hour I got on row 4 of the second train shot off. I was so scared of this ride but I was so excited at the same time. Once we launched I just kept my hands down and screamed all the way up, on the way down I put my hands up and loved the ride! After that I went to get a bite to eat, which took longer than I thought. After dinner I went for Magnum XL-200, which was practicly a walk-on. I went on the back of the train to minimize the wait time. I had high expectations for this ride and I wasn't as thrilled as I thought i'd be when my ride was over. It had amazing air time but the bumps and tunnels hurt me a lot! Afterwards I went towards Gemini and waited 5 minutes for Blue train. They were only running one train at 7 at night which caused a small wait. I enjoyed the ride besides a little bumpiness, it was not as good as American Eagle though! Next up was the last ride of the night, Mean Streak. I wish I never went on this ride because it was the most rough and uncomfortable roller coaster I'd ever been on! I went back and got some sleep afterwards so I'd be ready for early opening at 9 oclock.

Day 2: Woke up very early to eat breakfast at Perkins (bad idea, cramped me up that whole morning). Got to the gate at 8:55 and as they opened the gates I ran straight to Maverick (which was everyone's plan). I got second train row 4 and I loved the ride! Besides a little head banging, the ride was amazing. I then sprinted to Millenium Force, which had a 30 minute wait. I thought that Raging Bull was way better than Millenium Force, however Raging Bull was not as intense in my opinion. Next up was Mantis, which i was excited to ride becuase I probably am never going to ride Chang since it's not coming to Great America anymore  I rode Mantis in the back row and it was pretty painfull on the corkscrew and the loop was the most intense i'd ever been on, I greyed out on the first loop. The only other ride that happend to me on was the first loop of Batman! After this ride I was pretty tired and it was only 11 o clock. I walked over towards Magnum and decided it was worth another try to ride. It was lucky that I decided to go on Magnum XL-200 I thought at first because as I arrived at the Queue line, they just opened for the day because of mechanical problems! I got first ride in the front, which in retrospect was the worst decision I made that day, because it was very painful on the airtime hills. I decided that it was time to try out all the water rides Cedar Point had to offer. First up was Shoot The Rapids, which was more of a kiddie roller coaster than a water ride. It was actually annoying because all the water ended up inside the boat getting my feet wet! However the first drop was very exciting. Next up was Snake River falls which was the best water ride I had ever been on. The drop made you feel like you were going to fall out of your seat and the splash down was huge! After the ride I went to the splashdown bridge area to cool off even more. The last water ride was Thunder Canyon which was not even close to as good as Roaring Rapids! There was no water gun area for people to get you wet and the raft bumped into a rock and the seatbelt went into my hip, which was pretty painful :o After all the water rides I headed back to the hotel to change and take a break at the arcade playing guitar hero arcade :D after dinner at Friday's I spent the night at the park reriding Millenium Force and touring the park on the train. Afterwards I went back on Raptor and loved it even more than the first time! After that I got a shake at Johnny Rockets and closed the day off with 3 or 4 rerides on Wicked Twister, which was amazing but not as good as V2!

Day 3: This was my final day at the park and I decided not to have such a heavy breakfast but instead get a muffin and eat it before the gates open up  My plan was the same as the previous morning and I knew even better where to run to get first ride. I got to Maverick as the 9th person there and got 5th row first ride! Maverick was even better the second time I rode it. After that I ran to Millenium Force for my 3rd ride on it and I got a ride in the second row this time which was the best ride of the 3. After this I went to Top Thrill Dragster and waited and hour and a half to get on for my second ride which was the most amazing roller coaster ride I ever had. Better than Raging Bull in the back by a long shot! I had my hands up the whole time and had an amazing view at the top, if you go to Cedar Point you have to ride this! After that I went back for lunch at the hotel. After lunch I decided to get a quick ride on Magnum XL-200 which ended up being 45 minutes after a breakdown while I was on the ride! I learned to cope with the pain in the tunnels and I enjoyed all the air time that the ride could offer! I sat next to someone who was visiting the park for a few days like I was, however he was a Coaster n00b and thought Six Flags Great America has Kingda Ka, (facepalm) I told him that your thinking of Great Adventure, lol  After that I walked on Gemini and then went on Wildcat (I really wanted that coaster credit lol) After that I spent some time at Soak City in the Wavepool. I went back to the park one final time before I was going to leave to see if I'd get a lucky short wait. I went to my favorite ride, Top Thrill Dragster, and saw it was closed. I was pretty upset at the moment but then I saw people on the ride and I ran to get it line! The person working at the begining of the queue line said it was still and hour wait. I knew that wasn't true and I ran in the line seeing that it was only a 15 to 30 minute wait. I got 6th row in 15 minutes or less, making the trip amazing! :D

Did you ride any of the flats? Skyhawk was simply amazing and MaXair was also really cool! If you ever ride magnum again don't sit above the wheels it makes it better, and I always ride in the back. I Love TTD going up the climb I nearly hit my head from all the downward G's, views at the top simply breathtaking I rode it multiple times just so I could look around more. Maverick was amazing and Millennium force dried out my mouth because it was just so fast.
"Park staff later claimed that they were offered a hundred bucks a pop to try to the slide, but refused after seeing that test dummies often emerged on the other end dismembered. The looping slide was actually closed down for most of the park’s life due to these injury concerns."

My last ride on Millenium Force (2nd row) was the best! I sat in the middle for the other rides I took on it so it wasn't as good. If I tried Millenium in the back I probably would've liked it more.

Glad you had fun, I have never been to Cedar Point and probably won't ever get to go now that I live even further away than I did.

Cedar Point sounds like a fun place to go, it would have been fun while I lived in Illinois since it was a tad bit closer. Now I guess I'll have to go to Magic Mountain or Silverwood for the time being till I can get back home.
