East Coast 1 park trip

Let us know how your day at the park was.
Postby frightfestkid on August 10th, 2010, 11:40 am
So a few days ago I got back from my east coast vaca. Lets put it like this, if you think IL is crazy with tolls, try driving threw north jersey and NYC. Traffic was a complete nightmare but enough ranting.
So we got to Hoboken New jersey on Thursday after a 15 hour car ride because the next day for anyone who's seen the show Cake Boss we decided to visit Carlo's Bakery. We were walking around the town for the night and had to be up pretty early because the line for the bakery gets pretty long. That was the end of Thursday.

Friday rolls around so we got up around 6 with the bakery opening at 7, we got there at 7:30 and the line was already past the CVS across the street. The line to the bakery was about 3 hours worth of waiting and we were in the bakery about another hour. But to pass the time we met some nice Arkansas people that were in front of us. When in the bakery we met and got pictures with Maro, Joey and Frankie. There all vary nice. The pastries we got were a few "lobster Tails" some awesome cupcakes, a small crumb cake, some Eclairs, and some cannolis, it was all so good, total to about $40, so not bad i guess. The rest of Friday we spent in NYC. Its a vary nice city besides all the traffic. At around 5'o clock we started making our way down to the middle of Jersey for SFGADv the next day, we got to our hotel at about 7:30 and swam in the pool till about 10.

Saturday we woke up around 9ish and started making our way down to Jackson, we got to the park at about 10:30, The park is so beautiful, my dad considers it the "Disneyland of six flags" The park wasn't to bad at all. First thing done was head right to Kingda Ka, line wasn't to bad at all, but as we were in the station apparently something broke off one of the OTSR's so the ride was down about a half hour, we finally got on in the 2nd and 3rd row of the orange train. The launch was great, didn't feel as fast as i expected but still a great ride. Vary smooth. Right after Ka El Toro was calling my name, so we went right over there, 2 things I noticed around the park was it was themed amazingly and it also seemed like the prices weren't as crazy as SFGAm. But so El Toro was about a 45 min wait, I never noticed how long that train really is, and it seems like people just pack the front of the station, so many rows and little to no wait in the back. But we took the last 2 rows and it was AMAZING, best coaster Ive ever been on. It was to me the perfect wooden coaster. Air time is insane, even if your stapled your completely out of ur seat the whole ride, its defiantly a top coaster. After El toro we wanted to check out Nitro, so we took the sky ride over, nice little break from walking, by the time we got off it was about 12-12:30. We got to Nitro and it was about an hour and a half and we didnt think we would have much time left and we all wanted to hit Bizzaro. So we passed it up. We walked back across to the park and we saw the Houdini's great escape at we wanted to check it out, for some reason it dosnt look like its marked on the map, anybody know why? But the ride was fun, it had great illusions and a nice little pre-show. But we got to Bizzaro at about 1 and it had about an hour wait. We just waited it out, few things about the ride, it was nice and smooth, but my sister who had the left outside seat said it threw her head around, but my dad my sister and I were fine. The on ride audio was working fine but after the lift it just gets flat out annoying. I couldnt really take anymore of it after we got off the ride. But it had great effects with the fire and misters. By then it was about 2ish and our ride was in the pickup drop off area, witch is about 1/4 mile to 1/2 mile outside the park but the good thing was that the had a bus system that brings you to HH and the drop off area. So we finally got picked up and headed back to the hotel for the rest of the day.
A few things about the park was it was amazingly themed and the rides are great. It makes SFGAm seem like a little neighborhood carnival.
The park didn't seem as clean as SFGAm is. But it wasn't that bad.
If your going to that park be ready to walk a lot.
Thats about it for the park

Ride count
Ka-1
El toro-1
Bizzaro-1
sky ride-1

It was a short day at the park but it wasn't bad at all

That was our Saturday and our Sunday was we just woke up around 7, and headed back home.

FIN
God bless NIU

Well the only reason we had to skip Nitro is because our ride was on there way and we wanted to hit a floor less coaster and maby go on El toro again but didn't have the time for it. But ya I expect to go back to the park soon for a full day.

Holy cow, leaving a park you never been to at 2 pm, and it's not even a dinky park. Geesh. You spent about as much time at the bakery as SFGAdv.

Even if Nitro's line is posted that it's long, thats false. It has the fastest moving line in the park. Also Houdini isn't on the park map because Shapiro refused to have it open. Fan outrage this year created a Facebook group to reopen it. They decided to open it up for Memorial Day weekend so it never made it to the park map.

Well we were in a rush because we wanted to spend sometime at the beach but that didn't work out.

Do you know if Houdini is scheduled to be open during frightfest? I'll be out there then and hope I can catch it.

^Its possible. Originally it was slated to close Labor Day weekend. However last year it opened for the last few weeks of for Fright Fest. If its not open you can always do the SFNE version.

^Thanks, I didn't know SFNE had one. I won't be able to make SFNE on this trip, even though I really want to, because I'm going in Oct. I will really try hard to make it out there in 2011 though.
