Rumor - (8/5/10) The latest rumors suggest that SFGAm will make their 2011 on or near September 1st. On top of the rumored new project for the former Splash Water Falls site, we’ve heard a few rehabs and upgrade rumors are also being talked about such as some kind of ‘re-birth’ of for The Demon, new paint on Superman and Batmat (the later may get the identical paint job that SFMM’s version got last year), and possibly the return of backwards riding on American Eagle. All rumors still… but they all sound good too.
What do you know... My whole Demon Refurb idea may come to fruitation! (:
The re-painting is definitely a thumbs up from me.
But the American Eagle Returning to 'elgaE naciremA', not to sure. From what I hear it really e-ffed up Blue side, but for one season, could it be that bad?
For those rumors, it's a waste of money to spend on Batman because they just did it. I don't care for Batman the way it is, but is it really going to help the people come to the park and ride it because of it? Why don't they do something like the Carousel instead (especially the roof, and maybe the lights), or the flumes? Rides that need something done to them.
For Superman, I don't see why people say it's faded at all. Maybe, the support spots on only some of them is the reason people say it, but I was in line just recently for 45 minutes looking at the thing some of the time, and I didn't see it faded, so what's the point. For Superman, I would like to see red, blue, and yellow lights on it at night that might even change colors from one to the next instead of just stupid darkness along with Raging Bull. You pass by at a night, and Raging Bull is just looks like nothing in the dark.
For Demon, I don't understand how old theming is going to make this ride more popular. Once July and August go away, it's a walk-on ride, and that's even with them reducing capacity with the flash pass.

It's not necissarily new theming, as a major rehab. Constituting new paint (maybe red rails?), possibly new trains, and such. But, bringing back some rock structures would be nice. I hope this rumor holds true!
^They've been re-furbing the trains on Demon practically every off-season. I see no point in adding new trains and painting the thing, it won't draw any more people. Also, I wasn't aware that they got rid of any rock structures. Did they? Again, wouldn't draw more people.

I cannot wait to see a new attraction by Splash Water Falls. As that was my favorite water ride and lets fae it 3 seasons in a row with nothing there has been horrible. Blocking off the entrance with a game stand does not make it less noticeable. Superman like I said my last trip report badly needs paint as it is very faded and being at the front of the park rides like Superman and Raging Bull need lively colors. It has been 7 years. I doubt Eagle will go backwards I think that is just wishful thinking. It would be an awesome way to start 2011 and even better than Chang coming here. never got over the fact it will remain just a 13 year old stand up.
To this day, whenever I think of the next season, I just feel sad. I feel like the park added MORE this year, than they will add next year. in my opinion
Chang, a 13 year old stand up versus possibly new paint on Superman/Batman (SFMM one is bad ass), new attraction in County Fair as possibly better theme on Demon. We did not NEED Chang. We just needed something worthwhile and lets face it 2 years without any coaster paint as well as a dead area in CF just did not cut it. Chang would have been nice but it was nothing to cry over.
It's been nearly a decade since we've gotten a new thrill addition. Many can argue that it has been a decade since the only ones that truly like S:UF are mostly the GP. I won't wait two hours to ride S:UF.
They meant to say: Even if you do count Superman it has still almost been a decade since we got a new non-kid friendly coaster, and thus most enthusiasts don't care about these coasters unless it's for a credit. To consider that statement you even have -1 coaster since 2003 which is Deja Vu compared to the newer coasters towards thrill riders. However, I'm going to say I go on Dark Knight, but I know there are many thrill people that pass on that ride.

Can we just have ONE topic without fanboys complaining about how our park sucks and we deserve something new? Even though we got THREE new attractions this year while other parks got NOTHING!
Top 5: 1) El Toro. 2) Maverick. 3) Millenium Force. 4) Diamondback. 5) X2. Coaster Count: 167 (41 Wood, 125 Steel) @Coaster_Cole on Twitter

Could not agree more with you. In the last 8 seasons (aka since superman) the park has revived:
- 3 coasters (1 used) - An ENTIRE water park - Entire area with new rides - Huss Frisbee (used) - Wiggles World - Splash battle ride - Million dollar nighttime parade.
It was beyond stupid to get rid of a ride like Splash Water Falls and not find a way to replace it with SOMETHING in 3 seasons. Either keep it up and running till you find a replacement or find something better for it look how awesome of a replacement Sky Trail was for rock wall. And it cost very little. I hope the former Chang area does not sit there all next season just blocked off. Either put in a small flat there from another park or something or game/food stand. Anything. I did MANY trips in summer 2007 and Splash Water Falls was always pretty packed considering how fast the thing was over. Much better people turnout than Bucky.

TDK and Ragin Cajun are more for kids type of coasters. They are not "toddler" coasters. I go on Dark Knight, and I like the ride. What do I care if I make you mad? Just hide my posts. I'm not the one complaining oh we need a new coaster because we haven't gotten one in 2003. I'm just saying what the people are thinking that say oh we haven't gotten a roller coaster since 2003. You have no idea of how many times I overhear people say the Dark Knight is like Ragin Cajun, and the people go what in the world is that? Sometimes, I will say to them, this ride is like Ragin Cajun without spinning, and than I say what color the ride is, and they still have no idea what the ride is even though it's been there for 6 years. In the Dark Knight line, I also overhear people talking about Space Mountain a lot.
As for thrill riders, and their type of rides, yes we have gotten a waterpark since 2003, and a Tornado slide also in 2005 and 2006. It's just some people don't care for the waterpark, so they don't enjoy some of that stuff. Even the wavepool alone is like a thrill ride. The painting I just don't see the reason to paint those rides. I don't see what's wrong with any of those rides. Next time I go to the park, I will definitely look at Superman more, but I already look at it so much, and to me it just doesn't look too bad. It's in this topic: trip-reports/topic10833.html and this is rcdb picture http://rcdb.com/1977.htm?p=6368 To me, it just looks fine to me.
I haven't been on Eagle in awhile, but last time I was on that ride, that ride looked pretty bad - the supports - in regards to paint. Off subject, but has Shapiro or will this new guy paint Collossus? That looked roughed up with paint, but this was the year of Tatsu I went to that park. Batwing at Six Flags America has a roughed up paintjob also when I went to that park. This is a picture in 2007. I don't know. They might have done something to it by now. http://rcdb.com/1089.htm?p=19144
^For Splash Water Falls, the guy (Shapiro) just wanted to save some money, and get rid of Splash just like he got rid of Tilt-A-Whirl, Baveryn Kurve, and Spin Out at Magic Mountain, just like he got rid of Inverter at New England, and the other Huss ride, and so on and so forth. This new guy notices the barren wasteland Shapiro has left, and that's good they are going to get something in it's place. I just hope it's good.

I wonder what will happen when rides like Iron Wolf, Demon, Whizzer, the flumes, etc. reach their expiration dates and what will happen to those areas. I think Whizzer would be the last of those to go as Whizzer has much bigger lines than Demon and Arrow rides have been in trouble recently.
^I think Iron Wolf out of those would be the first to go. You have to remember though, that first they have to fill Splash Water Falls area, than how about Space Shuttle America area there is nothing there, and if they aren't going to show anything in Pictorium, what about that space? So, that's a bunch of space because of no Chang.

Why does everyone have this notion that Iron Wolf is the most hated ride at the park, and it is leaving just because it has head banging? You could name hundreds of rides tat are worse than Iron Wolf, and that are older, that will remain for years to come.
My money is down that Iron Wolf will not be removed within the next 5 years. B&M is still making coasters, and parts for those coasters, so if need be, I'm sure they could re fabricate a part of track if ever necessary.
The park is beginning to have this one issue: To many empty spaces. And not as if they were hidden away, they scream, "look at me I'm abandoned." at you.
And if Water park expansion really is the future of the dead SSA area, then I am positivity that area will die. They might as well move the Go-Karts, and change STT's entrance to the Carousel Plaza. And then just take under the whole area for HH expansion.
