^Yet another cable breaking on a ride. I just think these amusement parks aren't replacing them as often as they should be. How a regular boomerang works is that on the first lift hill, you have a catchcar that attaches to the back of the train. That goes up to the top with the train, and releases it. On the other lift hill, there is no catchcar, and you have a typical liftchain. When the train comes back to the first lifthill, the ride has the brakes on in the station, and the train barely goes up the first lifthill compared to Deja Vu, or the Invertigo rides which is like in the first 3/4 of the first lifthill when it catches. So, for the regular Boomerang, the brakes stop it. The catchcar attached to the cable comes down kind of slow to lock unto the train.
So, basing this story on the thing that the cable broke, and the car came to a sudden stop my theory is that the catchcar due to the cable breaking on it came down with the train into the station, and the brakes were on because they don't get shut off until the catchcar releases the train from on top. This is just like on a ride like Deja Vu, and you hear the noise before Deja Vu is about to release. That's all the brakes releasing when the ride is about to begin. The same came be said for V2 when it's about to start, and you hear the brakes all go up.
