The Official SFGAm Rumor Thread

^Problem is, no one cares about the character's at Six Flags. For WDW, meeting a character is the IT moment of the trip. Kids dream about meeting Mickey or dressing up like Sleeping Beauty and meeting her. Disney makes beyond a ton of money off photo ops because of this. Hell, the entire FantasyLand expansion is to make tons off PhotoPass photos.

Now a days (and I'm not talking about fanboys here) children do not care about Looney Toons. Same goes with Justice League or Mr. Six. The new photo huts are a good idea in a way, but the idea of "buy now or never" turns people off.

It's not about going anti-family, it's more of why spend money on actors when they make zero money.

^I do think kids do care about the Justice League - Batman, Wonder Woman, and so on. However, at Six Flags where are they advertising they have them at the park? It's Mr. Six this, Mr. Six that, and what not in the ads. If there is no advertising, they are not going to look for the Justice League. The same thing goes with Looney Tunes, but I think moreso Looney Tunes have lost their appeal.

For these new rumors on Screamscape, seriously if these ever come about, I think this is dumb to just get the same ride over again, but using a different manufacture (The Whizzer same layout through a new Mack coaster). Do something different in order to get more people to the park instead of the same old, same old. I wouldn't be excited if they torn down Whizzer, and basically get the same ride, but a different manufacture. It's nothing new, and different that makes me go I have to go to Great America this year. Yes, it would a great idea to get another family coaster that is in the order of the Whizzer, but not the same layout!! This could be a mine train, or something like the Matterhorn (at Disneyland without the mountain), an outdoor Space Mountain that goes faster, or just something without any over the head restraints that has a small height requirement.

The other thing was Super Splash ride from Mack in Splash Water Falls which just sounds like another Splash Water Falls. I never found Splash Water Falls to be that great. The ride is over in such a short time. It was a ride to me in which I thought hey I am hot, and I want to get wet. I didn't feel it was that fun. So, why get the same ride in the same spot? On top of it, they just put BB in that area. Someone at Six Flags is thinking hey, they had 2 Mack flops, how about getting 2 more?

You also have to remember that SWF has an extremely tight area. The only pleasable use is putting in a water ride. And hey, aren't the water pipes still there? They could work with MACK to use the same cement flume that is currently in there.

You could always take out the Antique Cars, and move them elsewhere. They took them out at SFStL, and than fit them within Evil Kinevil.

I wonder if they would totally remove Whizzer, or take the route Kennywood did with Steel Phantom. Since Arrow was out of buisness, they used Morgan to overhaul the ride, and make it Phantom's Revege. Maybe SFGAM would use Mack to replce most of the ride, but keep some Schwarzkopht in the ride, so it will still technically be the same ride.
The Mr. Six at the park is REALLY creepy

I'm ready for a Ragin' Cajun good time

I really hope that they give Whizzer the classic Off-White paint job though! That looks so cool, and you can actually see, A COASTER! haaha!

(7/22/10) According to one reader, they spotted survey crews doing work in the former Splashwater Falls area. Looks like they may be working on something here after all, but for 2012 or 2011?

Do you mean... We're getting a water ride?! We've been needing one for YEARS!

well, no, they are probably just measuring the size of the area. They would never re-use that pool. It was the entire reason SWF was removed.

I'm sure they would re-build it, because the majority of Super Splash MACK rides have a different layout.

So, either Chang was NOT our only ride set for 2011 OR water rides can be ordered late.
I would rather see a Splash Water Falls type and fill that hole in County Fair (I LOVED SWF) but I hate thinking front of the park will be barren or given some lame game stand/food court? I am NOT anticipating 2 attractions for next year. I do think with survey workers starting now they ar enot planning anything for 2012. Remember Buccaneer Battle's survey marks in summer 2008?

Or maybe, something entirely different than a water ride? which is exactly what we don't need. I was being sarcastic earlier. ;)

^^I think it depends on what type of water ride. Are you talking the Intamin type of ride like Cedar Point where they couldn't even get it open at the beginning of the season, or are you talking about White Water, or Proslide type of stuff? Remember, our park made an entire waterpark in a year. For the fiberglass tubes, I just imagine it wouldn't take that long to make compared to real steel like in roller coasters. Waterslides, they don't even need a train. They just need rafts which I'm sure Proslide or White Water has plenty made right away because I'm sure companies that have waterslides might just want tubes as the ones they have might be punctured.

Aren't MACK Super Splash rides almost identical to Intamin's Splash Drop?

David and Everyone else, This is what a "Super Splash" looks like:

Honestly, I Would Prefer A Mack LSM Launch Coaster in Splashwater Falls and Dare Devil Dive Area. If you look at Bing there's a good chunk of land in that area.

It is bigger than our Splash Water Falls was. It would need more room. Bye bye Great American Raceway? Unless it would go at the front of the park by STT.

I Hate to be a D-Bag onyxhotel08, but I Also said to Get Rid of Dare Devil Dive. That would allow alot more land for the Coaster.

I don't know, but it reminds of Intamin FAIL at Six Flags America - Skull Mountain.

If they are set on getting a Splash Water Falls again, I think this is one they should get in my opinion (the one at San Diego) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VSbdd9qb ... re=related

I think this would be the one we would get. It's a MACK Splash, so thats probably it. IF we get it.

for once, I can see your point. Because Six Flags has made some kind of relationship with MACK lately.... i.e. Dark Knight and Buccaneer Battle.

Maybe a ride like blue fire is a possibilitie for the SSA area?

Dare i say, on the level of Cedar Fair and Intamin? Both MACKs have been near flops, and they continue to buy things from MACK.

Maybe a ride like blue fire is a possibilitie for the SSA area?

From what I hear, Blue Fire is all inversions, no real airtime or anything. I don't know for sure though.

^^^^The thing with your ride you are suggesting as in my problem with it; is the turntable. At Six Flags America for Skull Island they have had problems with that ride because of that turntable, and on top of it, I think it will slow down capacity badly for that Mack ride because of how slow it is to turn the boat to go into that area.

While that may slow down capacity, I wouldn't really miss it. Oh look you drop a few feet backwards, oh look now we're forwards again. lmao
