With the talk of a new territory, what's your favorite SFGAm 2003 territory? (Here's a park map, if you need to look at it.)

Mine would have to be Southwest Territory. Raging Bull is my favorite coaster, and I like the Viper, too. 8) It also has the best flats.

I like Southwest for the same reasons as well. County Fair is a very close second though with Deja Vu, Demon, AE, and Iron wolf. Plus it has Fiddler's Fling.
My Top 5: 1)TTD, 2)Millennium Force, 3)Raptor, 4)Deja Vu, 5)Raging Bull

Not that I don't love the rides in SWT, but all the areas of our park have great rides. What sets SWT apart is the incredible attention to detail in the themeing, giving that section of the park a Disney-like feel. I really feel that if all the territories got the same themeing treatment as SWT, our park would be the crown jewel of the Six Flags chain (It almost is already, in terms of rides).

I'm sorry, but I would rather that the park not put in a new ride for one off-season, but go through and do intense themeing and maintenence of all the old areas. Anyone else agree?

I think InsaneNewman hit the nail on the head! I love southwest territory just because walking through it and looking at all the awesome scenery and games. Ofcourse Raging Bull and Viper make it a great territory but the scenery is what really sets it apart from the rest of the park.

I like carosuel plaza and hometown the best not because of rides, but because they are the best looking sections in the park.

Hometown it makes the park seem more historic in my eyes. It makes you think what America is like, and how we should treasure our past.

County Fair may have the most coasters of any area, but ST is home to the Bull, the Viper, the Drop, and Chubasco. It's also the most well-themed of any of the other areas. Yukon is a close second.

Southwest Territory (Duh), then Yankee Harbor... think about it: V2, Batman, East River Crawler... also I enjoy the atmosphere in this area. It's underrated in my opinion. Anyone agree?

Yankee Harbor is a former shell of itself. It doesn't have the atmosphere it once had. Tidal Wave is gone, Yankee Clipper was changed to Ice Mountain Splash, the italian restaurant used to be a seafood restaurant, and the lighthouse is now gone.

Personally, I wouldn't mind the park changing the names of Batman and V2 so some seaside themed names with proper theming to go with them.
I finally retired the Sarah Palin signature because she is now 100% irrelevant.

I 100% agree with you. Man, remember the Tidal Wave days? Everything fit so much better in that section. I guess the reason why I still like it is because the atmosphere has been brightened up and somewhat modernized. I love the placement of V2, espically from behind the food stands. I would personally like to see the more harborish theme come to play, but since this most likely won't happen we can hope for the best.

I think they should rename V2 to Tidal wave ^2 lol its basically a bigger version with out a loop, and I have heard many a GP refer to V2 a Tidal Wave on Steriods. They should just retheme it alittle then they would have one more ride that fit the theme lol. That would make a total of 2 out of 5 that still fit the theme. Stupid corparate sponser ships ( Ice Mountian ) lol. I really dont see how Whirly-Gig fits but its an awesome ride :D

Sorry SFGAMNUT9302, I kinda copied your poll of the best themed area without knowing it. Have any of you read the last page of the SFGAm forums recently? They're full of rumors from previous years. Kinda fun to read them and see if they're really true or not.

Yukon for me. I love the whole northwoods/pine tree look to it. It's got the log cabin theme going. Yes, the kids areas even look good. Plus I can see my favorite ride from there!

Second would have to be Yankee Harbor. I would also love to see some more harborish theme go in. Maybe a board walk around water? It could of been so freakin cool if they really dug the whole place up. V2 is kinda out of place there. Put it my favorite territory and call it Redwood Jumper or something like that.

SW territory is okay, but it's overrated. Everyone seems to pick it b/c of Raging Bull and Viper. Raging Bull could of had much better theming in my opinion.

I don't pick terriroties based on rides, I pick on theming.

aero737.

I think the reason people pick SWT is because everything in that territory is at least themed somewhat to the section.

When you think about it, nothing there is out of place.

They are pretty dang close to being in Yukon!

I would love to see more Rocky Mountain type theming in Yukon Terriroty. Maybe some fake boulders and more giant pine trees!
