Watching the construction of it while living in Cal made me excieted to see this show. You can't see the projections from the angle in this video but it gives a good idea of what the fountains do.
It looks like the first two shows will be Fastpass only and the last show will take the leftover people. DLR has also added another Summer Nightastic thing to help take the massive crowds away from Pier at that time of the night.
In exciting news for the highly anticipated summer season at California Adventure, Disney has announced something else new for the Summer Nightastic! line-up. In addition to the exciting upcoming debut of World of Color, Disney's California Adventure guests have something else to look forward to.
A new high-energy experience called Glow Fest will be debuting exclusively at California Adventure in Sunshine Plaza and the Hollywood Backlot.
Details released indicate that Glow Fest will begin with the sound of drums and powerful rhythms that will draw guests into Sunshine Plaza. As the sun sets, colors will burst to life and music will play from a brightly-lit stage that almost seems to glow. Dancers and world music performers will be on hand as well. This will all take place at Sun Plaza from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. and will continue in Hollywood Backlot until Park closing.
As much as a pain the Fastpass system can be they made the right descision, I remember when Fantasmic went up from rehab last year thousands of APs descended upon the park that day and camped out all day for spots. I walked by the lagoon about 2 hours before the show started and it was completely packed, for a show thats been there over 10 years. With the huge crowds WOC will bring I dont think they really had a choice but to do the first show (or two) of the night Fastpass only, otherwise people would be camping outside the ampitheater at 10am and everyone would be even more frustrated. The crowd to park-size volume at DLR is one of the craziest things you will see in this industry and I cant wait to see some TR's (and see for myself) of this all in motion.
I'm going to Disneyland this Monday. Sadly, a few days too early to see the madness (and the awesome show, of course). But from the sounds of it, I may want to avoid the resort all together for a while.
Every jumbled pile of person has a thinking part that wonders what the part that isn't thinking, isn't thinking of.
This show looks fantastic and fills a major void at not only DCA but DLR in general (bring newer Disney films/charecters into the resort). Looks like it will be a huge draw.
