SFMM to open Mr. Six's Dance Coaster in 2010.

Talk about anything that has to do with the amusement park industry here.

Who knew a Vekoma roller skater would take over 18 months to build while the Little Dipper was bought and built in around 6 months.

Something must be behind this...
It's impossible that there is a construction problem, as they've had it on site for quite a while.

Possibly plans for one of the 2011 attractions went under so they need this as a back-up? This is very peculiar.

This is very likely political related. As I've said before, at West Coast Bash Q&A session, the upper management told us that CA regulations will only set rider height by what the manufacturers suggest. Management was adamant that they were trying very hard to get Vekoma to change the verbage in their specifications to lower the ride height back to 36", which it ran at SFNO and that would then satisfy the state to lower it. The problem is, today's Vekoma is not the same company who built the ride, and no one there will sign off because they don't want the liabilities for it.
Disneyland has the exact same ride and it is 35" to ride it. Magic Mountain is very aware of this. My guess is they will continue trying very hard to get this changed. There may be some hope of that since they have not given up yet. It very well could be 36" or bust and they probably don't want to sink anymore money into it until it is. Otherwise they can't hit their target market.

You know something, there are quite a few other parks that wouldn't mind at all seeing this ride at their park. I'm sure that Six Flags could find something to replace it. If Vekoma really is the one refusing it, they might as well say goodbye to Six Flags. They haven't bought anything from Vekoma in 9 years, and I doubt they will anytime soon, if Vekoma wants a pretty huge companies business, they better start playing with the big kids.

I Say send the Coaster to Six Flags St. Louis. They could use a Junior/Kids Coaster.

I truly don't see the point of having the "most coasters" if your park doesn't have anything else!

Well, atleast parks who compete for "most coasters" are good for the following.

Coaster Enthusiasts
Thrill Seekers
Credit Whores

What a wide variety of people!

I think you mean TPR's only. :P
Im not a credit whore. The only way I ride wacky worms or others is if im kinda bored and its close. Otherwise I just go to parks for good coasters, and a good time.

We already have 4 childrens coasters (DKC, RC, Spacleys, Dipper) and many childrens rides. I say we forget chang and add a Mr. Six's Fun zone in the SSA area (add dance coaster) and a Thomas Town in Iron Wolfs spot! Whos the best childrens park now Lego Land?

While your at it:

- Remove Raging Bull and expand Hurricane Harbor!
- Remove American Eagle and expand Wiggles World!
- Remove B:TR and replace it with a mine train coaster!

Many more possibilities! ahahh!
