SFMM to open Mr. Six's Dance Coaster in 2010.

Talk about anything that has to do with the amusement park industry here.

Most of us knew this was coming. It's the name I didn't know about until now.

Mr. Six's Dance Coaster
I finally retired the Sarah Palin signature because she is now 100% irrelevant.

And when Shapiro decides to bring back the crazy Asian?! THIS IS TERRRIBLE! They will need to spend money to change the ride to "Dance Coaster" which will make no sense. If you couldn't get families with TT, the how will a creepy old man coaster help?

I thought SFMM did not need any family rides as it was primarily targeting thrill seekers not absorbed by Disney and Universal in southern California. What was the last big, successful family ride added to the park that still draws huge crowds?

Well the name confuses, infuriates and nauseates me, however can't blame Six Flags for utilizing a coaster that has been in a closed property for years. It may not be the most thrilling thing out there, but SFMM lacks a family coaster of this type( I think goldrusher is more of an adult oriented coaster), and this is as close to a free coaster as it gets. Not much to it so transportation and construction is relatively cheap.

The main thing here that confuses me is they get big huge rides and people complain cause they get all the cool stuff and other parks are "neglected", now they go and put in a used family coaster and people complain cause it's not a big cool ride. You all have to make up your minds.

Perhaps the park is tired of having all their stuff vandalized by the thrill seeking audience that comes in on a season pass, doesn't spend a dime and drives away the cash spending family audience.

I LOVE this name and theme. It gives kids a reason to be excited about the ride. Plus it is in part of the park without kiddie rides, so expect long lines.

Adults can't ride Percy's Railway...I think it's a smart move considering that Magic Mountain has pretty much nothing but huge thrilling coasters and they acquired this one on the super cheap.

I find it a bit funny that they named this Mr Six's "Dance Coaster," since its a roller skater and doesnt need new fiberglass all they have to do is paint the shoe (train) to the color of Mr Six's shoes and it fits the theme :)

Why don't they pull out that Vekoma Tornado, and bring it to a park that needs a new coaster. I think St. Louis could greatly benefit from this.

SFStL already has Ninja, which for all intents and purposes is identical to Jester at SFNO. Basically every SF park has some sort of Arrow or Vekoma corkscrew or small looper. Also I think they lost all the remaining rides when they broke their lease earlier this year.

^Then that was really stupid of them. They just lost millions of dollars on the rides left over, including the Jester, and that S&S Tower.

Six Flags America Could've Gotten Jester.
St. Louis Should've gotten the Kids Coaster.

But this isn't that Kind of Forum.

All the rides were court ordered to be left intact. They almost didn't get this family coaster out in time before the cease and desist order was issued. Everything left is garbage. No park needs a Vekoma corkscrew and everyone who needs one already has a Boomerang. All the flats are going to be beyond repair or will cost more than they are worth to fix. If SF really wanted these rides they could have paid out the $$ to keep them. Just remember Six Flags never owned SFNO, they only managed the park, the city of New Orleans owned the park. I'd have to look it up but I'm pretty sure SF had to pay restitution for Batman, this coaster and everything else they removed that was included in the better than $65 million dollars that the city accepted to break their lease.(a majority of the 65 million will be insurance payout)

Also at least make some sort of attempt to get your facts straight for once, there are no S&S towers at SFNO. They are at another SF property.

That S&S tower is now running as Sasquatch at The Great Espace.

As FParker stated, most of the rides were heavily damaged. Six Flags got the rides they wanted before the court order.

So nothing stupid about it.

Regarding SFNO, everyone I know that is from New Orleans (SFNO), New York (Darien Lake), and Colorado (Elitch Gardens) has told me that they used to enjoy going to the parks before Six Flags bought them and overlayed them with Six Flags logo's/price hikes/bad service. Considering the fate of the other two I highly doubt SF even considered re-opening SFNO for a second, and in my opinion the rides they moved are better suited at those parks than re-opning SFNO. If the park wasnt that succesful before Katrina why lose even more money running it after.

^ Close, EE is 44 inches.

The Mr. Six is, however, the same as Greezed Lightin' at SFKK. So apparently a kids coaster = shuttle loop coaster with only lap bars.

Apparently the construction has been postponed, it now says on SFMM's website the ride will be opening in 2011.
