Britney Spears
The Circus Starring: Britney Spears
Allstate Arena
April 28th (with Pussycat Dolls) & September 9th (Kristinia Debarge)

I have always been a huge fan. Since 4th grade Britney Spears has been my ideal woman. I stuck by her at her worst (2007) and never even considered saying something bad about her. When she took some time off to start a family, I played her old albums and waited patiently for new music. I love her albums, songs, videos, anything she does. I saw her many times before in Chicago but the momentum was never this huge. Upon announcing the tour in December 2008, I rushed to get my tickets the same day and counted the day till the show. The first time out I went with my brother and my seats were not great. Awesome show filled with details, real Circus acts and tons of tricks and surprises. I was bummed I sat so far away. I knew she had to come back as her entire first leg of the tour sold out. All 30-some dates.

The second time I knew I had to get better seats and even spend 5 times as much as I did before. Well counting the cab, ticket and some souveneirs, I spent over $250. It was so much better as I actually saw her face up close, body movements were incredible and seeing her Circus show from the second best area (In the Zone standing behind love seats surrounding the stage) was heaven on earth. It was all Britney all night. The radio stations were playing Britney till midnight and people were going crazy in the filled-to-the-max parking lots. You saw the devotion of her fans. You saw the love. Gone was the tabloid target. Here was a pop superstar being embraced by her fans once again. Her career really does have more lives than a cat.
Here is to another great tour (Just hope she extends it to a 2 hour tour) very soon (Spears is currently recording album #7). Her tour wa #1 in North America in 2009 and 4th or 5th worldwide. 97% of the tour dates were all sold out. 97 shows (61 in U.S.) and her stupid record company still cannot release a DVD.

Meatloaf in 2003 in St. Louis. Was cool to meet him beforehand and get to on the tour bus randomly. A great show even at his age.

Trans-Siberian Orchestra at the Allstate in December 2006. Best light show I've ever seen.

I have to agree. I saw it in 08 and it was amazing, I hope to see it again if it comes back. I missed it last year but I hope it comes back this year.

Springsteen, Soldier Field, August 1985. No openening act. No fancy light shows, just 4 hrs of straight up rock'n'roll. Of the 15 or so bands/artists that I have seen in my lifetime live, none of them have come close to putting on a concert like Springsteen could before 1989.
If it walks like socialist, quacks like socialist, smells like a socialist, .... it's a socialist. Hope, and change we can believe in.

Avril Lavigne maybe 2 years ago at All State Arena. It was just so exciting to see her in person singing in front of me. :D The other memorable one I remember had to be the A*Teens awhile ago at the Rosemont Theater. They were just so good too.

Gaga was a good concert back in January.
I've seen Foo Fighters twice and they are AMAZING live.

Best concert ever though was the Blink 182 concert last summer. I still have my pit wristband on from that, best concert experience of my life.

Insane Clown Posse for the Bang Pow Boom tour was pretty high up there. Australian Pink Floyd was also awesome. Kenny Wayne Sheppard with Double Trouble, Ted Nugent and ZZ Top was also an excellent show. Dark Lotus also have been awesome both times I've seen them.

Yeah, I liked Marie (blonde hair). I don't really remember the other one that much though.

Yellowcard at the Metro 2 years!!! It was their last tour and it was entirely acoustic with a chello player in the back replacing the drums!!! Just the mood of it alone combined with hearing the entire set on strings was excellent! The openers were Spill Canvas and Treaty of Paris

Second best would be Green Day back in 2005, with Jimmy Eat World!!! It was the same tour they used for Bullet in a Bible and my first concert!!! :D
RIP: Trailblazer and Deja Vu...heck, even Alien Encounter :(

Fangs Up Cobra Style!!!
