So I have one place in mind with my personal experience so you or someone you know can avoid the misery I suffered and maybe someone can share theirs? Note this was MY store and others may not be 110% the same but you get the idea:
Marshalls department store- Hours promised, never given. Managers who say one thing do another. Customers who do not feel like looking around for a display shoe and want you to do everything . No real money improvements. Had a guy with over 10 years experience in retail management wait for almost a year till he got $8.50 h/r. Prices routinely mismatched on the same items. If you do not know a certain shoe for example has another pair somewhere else in the store AND is marked down more, you may end up paying more as the machines don't always play fair at register time. Disgusting unkept bathrooms. Poor customer serivce. Managers who lie to customers right next to you.

Mow lawns. Youngest is 15 with work permit, and those jobs are usually crap unless you work at Six Flags (which can be crap as well, depending on personal preference). Most places are even bumping the age requirement to 18 now, I was the last 16 year old to be hired at the Macy's I'm at.
Petsmart, people talk about you behind your back and they don't get in trouble for it. Best Buy applied there 3 times and got no response from any manager so waste of my time. Target they say their hiring for a certain position and you go to apply and they say they don't have a position for you. Those are 3 places I had trouble with
