Raginggiant wrote:i only heard like 2 difft songs played everytime i went. i went to six flags 7 times this summer and the music was either Michael jackson or it was that song where it says " I want to move it, move it." That song made my headache worse...LITERALLY!! They should have variety such as rock, pop, country, r&b. I went to the park when it opened back in april and they had the awesome superman themed music at the ride. I think some rides such as raging bull maybe cant have any music cause they always have that announcements saying "Welcome to raging bull, Thanks for challenging raging bull, pull the lap restraint towards you." For the people who never been.

Somewhere mid-season they changed the audio to say,

"Welcome aboard Raging Bull, please pull the restraint towards you, as far as it will go."
"Thank you for riding, please enjoy the rest of your day at Six Flags Great America."

Next season, It'l probly be Kit Hoover. hah.

^ At no point during the last 5 seasons has Raging Bull's auto-spiel been redone.
"Welcome to Raging Bull. Please pull your lapbar down as far as it will go. For those waiting to challenge Raging Bull, please move behind the yellow safety line as the gates in front of you will be closing. During the ride, remain seated with your arms and legs in side the car at all times with your head against the headrest. Please secure all personal belongings, especially hats and glasses. Enjoy your ride."

That wasn't changed, but they changed the return message. It no longer says challenge.

^ I can assure you that none of Bull's auto-spiels have changed.
"Welcome back. When the train stops, push down then pull up on your lapbar. Exit to your right and down the exit ramp. Thank you for challenging Raging Bull and enjoy the rest of your day at Six Flags.

I've probably stopped listening closely as the ops just holler over it. My bad :)

In other news, a plane crashed! (nah. I'll stay on topic.)

I used to be able to remember Viper's quite well, but they don't play it anymore or they just talk over the lady. I think AE used to have a lady announce the stuff as well, but I haven't heard that in quite some time. Now its just the ride ops yelling things.

There is an African American lady that works Demon, and she starts barking and laughing evily. I love her! I gave her a hug after she left the ride. I then stalked her after. She works Demon, and Whizzer. I also saw a guy, kinda chubby that works Whizzer, and he calls me out in the announcment. I love him :) In a friendly way of course.

His announcement:
" Welcome aboard the Whizzer! Please fasten the seatbelt, with the largest rider in the back, and the smaller in the front. Warning, David is aboard."

Southwest did play country, but however, not today's new contemporary country. I liked Southwest back when it had the instrumental soundtrack. I liked the whole park better when it had their soundtracks. I was hoping they'd bring it back, but it doesn't look like its gonna happen. At least you got the Carousel soundtrack and then some downloadable on I-Tunes.

The sections would've been good if Southwest played instrumental western mixed in with old-school country music such as Merle Haggard, Johnny Cash, and Willie Nelson. County Fair and Orleans would have Dixieland, Hometown would have 30s and 40s mixed in with folk. Yukon could have the dulcimer music heard in most little houseware stores, and Yankee would play, well, songs about New England and sailing of course. This would be my take.

The park looked beautiful prior to the 100,000 commercials on display. Now it looks cheapened.

That'll work, as long as they return the old soundtracks.

Playing non-generic music brings in tons of money, and the ads in between just help keep us afloat.

What really needs to be done is give Shapiro the boot.

Ok so those are both a bit wrong, and I shall now clear them up just so we don't have anyone learning the wrong way about all this:

Also the instrumental tracks were sweet. Some Back in the Saddle Again, Red River Valley...true classics that really brought the SWT to life and made it seem more real. Amazing how that worked, music that fit the themes of the area of the park to make it a more exciting experience, clever stuff. Themeing just isn't important to these people anymore. It can't be that themeing is too expensive, since they had the stuff, they just don't use it anymore! If you have it, and it makes the park more awesome, why not use it!?

^It's all about money. Why theme when you can advertise stuff within the park that cost money? I don't agree with it at all, but it is what the park is chosen.

Sadly, the only area you can really avoid the music without being in a queue is the Demon and Buccaneer Battle area. Which is odd as you have the 1970's style Demon song on one side with pirate music on the other.

BTR, HH, and SWT have "somewhat" themed soundtracks.

^I meant more of you still have to hear the random crap they play everywhere else in the park except that random spot. For some reason, they forgot to play the SF Radio crap there. I have no clue on Hurricane Harbor as I have never been there when it was open to the public.
