SFMM and SFOG's Batmans are currently being painted blue. Im hoping they do some work to Gotham at SFMM because it looks a bit out of place as the area around it is rustic looking, but I think it will look great at SFOG.
^Actually it does. Brighter colors on rides tend to fade very quickly compared to darker colors. Now does it fit the Batman theme? Not really. And in my opinion three yellow coasters isn't an eyesore. I heard rumors that our Batman was getting repainted, has anyone confirmed this?

Yeah, I think yellow really compliments our coaster
(sings)If you want to be my Chang-y, doesn 't matter if your black or white, or brown, or blue, or green, or red, or orange, or mauve, or yellow... 2010 trips- Dollywood, SFGAm, maybe SoCal
^ It may look good, but it does not scream batman in anyway. Let's agree to disagree in every situation

in my opinion, I think blue is a better color than yellow. Yellow is only on Batman's beltbuckle, but at least there are some Batmans (in comics, movies, and tv) that are blue.
The old series, he was blue, and in the Cartoon Network show (I don't think it's that good though) called Batman the Brave and the Bold he's somewhat blue with grey.
The thing with black is I think that Batman (from the movies, and some cartoons) is a little more edgy, and Six Flags is all about tricking people into the thing that they are family friendly park. To me, having a mostly yellow color coaster had nothing to do with keeping the theme, but more about yellow will attract more people to the ride because it's more shocking.
I kind of think they are changing with the yellow scheme after they had to paint Six Flags Over Texas one again. They still painted it yellow, but maybe they are finally re-thinking, how many times are we going to paint a roller coaster that is yellow because it's fading too fast?

After seeing pictures of SFOT's Batman I wasnt a fan of the idea of painting it yellow when they announced it at NCC 04, but when the park opened it looked striking and much better than the black in my opinion. The only concren I have about the blue is that the Gotham Backlot area of SFMM all of thes structures are grey and brown so it will look out of place unless they spruce up the area a bit.
I also find it funny SFGADV took out the police car in the line when they painted in 04 and SFMM took out the police car in the line before they started painting it now, but SFGAm kept the police car. Also I noticed this year they took it out at SFSTL even though they didnt paint the ride.

BTR POLICE CAR CONSPIRACY
Really, it was there closing weekend 2008? I completely missed it or didn't think twice after walking the long queue to ride a clone of a ride I live 15 minutes from
I'm fine with the Batman the blue color as I said, but the thing to me though is that this past decade of people know a lot about the black Batman. The new movie he has a black suit on. I think black has just reminded me such of Batman instead of blue. You have a themed property, and you might as well call it Iron Wolf, or Superman because people won't even know what the ride is. That's my opinion. The first couple years, people in line were always asking to each other what is that ride (Batman)? To me, at SFOT they messed up on Mr. Freeze too. It reminds me of Superman, but it's a Mr. Freeze ride. I think white and blue (instead of red and blue) would have been better colors.
I personally think that black and yellow (just the rails) would be the best paint job that they never made. Use the yellow from SFFT for the rails. By paint the rails only I mean like they had the gold color at SFNO Batman, but yellow color from SFFT Goliath.
Does anyone else find it strange that they named a 100 footer roller coaster Goliath at SFFT? Their wooden coaster is even taller than Goliath (Rattler).

Actually reading what you just wrote gave me an idea. Perhaps in order to save alittle $$ in the future they will drop the DC comics theming, and all this repainting now will make it easier to change or drop the theme later on.

I don't think the park sells all that much Batman : The Ride merchandise. If I remember right, for how new it is, Dark Knight merchandise isn't to prevalent either. For the most part most batman, Superman and other DC property merchandise is pretty generic and not ride or park related at all.

^The only Dark Knight stuff left are keychains, magnets and t-shirts, which were half off. They did have pins this last season, but I managed to snag the last one they said they had.
