Actually, don't you think the profit would go DOWN if we got something new and expensive. The number of people in the park aren't dropping, so your theory makes no sense at all
With the loose of Kiddieland/addition of Little Dipper, there is a whole new market for the park to exploit
Theres no question to me SFGAm DESTROYED Kiddieland in terms of competition. There was no competition. With the addition of HH, Wiggles, TDK, and BB why would anyone with kids want to go to Kiddieland other than SFGAm? While they may get bashed on this board with frequency, all of those things are far superior in quality to anything found at Kiddieland. The only reason I think people would take their kids there is because they live in the area or cant afford SFGAm, but if the kids are bugging them to go to Six Flags instead typically they will.
If SFGAm could keep all their kids rides open, in my opinion it would be one of the best parks for kids out there.
Oh I agree with that, however, Kiddieland still have nearly 600k visits last years. You have to think there are people who lived near Kiddieland that chose it over SF Great America on location alone. Right there is a huge chunk of new people to draw there.

I'll take any of your utter BS, but when you cut out half of my post, which CLEARLY explains my reasoning, then I'm not ready to argue with you.
^ No, I was just stating the profitable park thing. I was talking about a new coaster in general, not very much caring about the Chang part. I am sorry for the confusion. Oh, and very quickly, it has been discussed in other topics that thrill seekers are more like 25% of the GP

Well let's just leave it tht SFGAm is a top park in the six flags chain, and about 50%+ of the GP(like us) are thrill seakers, so a new addition like chang or a big thrill WILL bring in more guests, example do you think crowds were larger before or after Bull was constructed, bull may not be the lone reason for the guest increase but it deffenetly made up a big part of it.
Now onto the REAL topic, chang it looks like could fit in roaring rapids spot. One thing that I think the park looks at in location is were dose the ride look good in, I doubt it would look vary good siting by Eagle and that area, it could look O.K In SSA's spot and make it a parking lot coaster, but I think it would look good in rapids spot, but that's just me. ~frightfestkid

Well that is true, what about loggers run and Yankee clippers' spot, I don't know how it would look, but then the ride's entrance could be in Yankee harbor and theme it to a Batman cheractor, this idea is most likly unpopular but just retheme that whole area to gothom city.

Clipper and logger's Run will leave eventually but they are still popular, go back to the Marriot days in the 70's and they really have enough on their plate to replace already
For the flumes it depends on the condition of the rides. Alot of flumes have been removed in the past couple years due to deterioration of the trough. Fiberglass flume trough has a limited life span. Cedar Point, Valleyfair, PKI, Blackpool and a whole bunch of others have bit the dust. Now if the park wants they can have all new trough made if they deem it worthwhile, like Kings Island did for their second log flume which is now Wild Thornberrys Log Ride and sports modern galvanized steel trough rather than it's original fiberglass.

I feel like every "fact" you just cited was made up in your head. That's all.
Top 5 wood-5-Goliath 4-Ravine Flyer II 3-Phoenix 2-Voyage 1-El Toro Top 5 Steel- 5-Velocicoaster 4- Maverick 3- Fury 325 2-Steel Vengeance 1-X2 Coaster Count: 444
Ratio- 3-1 Whenever I go, I always see many more families than thrillseekers

When the park first opens, it tends to be thrill seakers just because of the weather. Once it warms up, there is no question it is families and teens who's parents use the park as a baby sitter.
Well Unfortunetely it looks like the Chang Coaster will not be installed until 2011. Its a ways way from today but I know the wait will be worth it. Ive seen the POV Videos for the Chang Coaster and it definetely looks awesome. I believe it will be one of the top coasters of the park from now on. Its gonna be better than Iron Wolf. Anyone out there actually ridden the Chang Coaster? I wanna know what its like.

I could have told you that like 6 months ago that it wouldnt open til 2011, if we do in fact get it.
As a standup it was pretty good, I think as a floorless or sit-down it has the potential to be spectacular, up on the level of Kumba.

It's a nice coaster. The first drop is fun and the looping inversion are smooth. I felt the corkscrew were a little rough but nothing bad. The ride also look outstanding and was one of the easiest to take a great photo of.
I did found Mantis to be smoother but I also rode Chang in the back row. Also, Chang is miles upon miles better then Iron Wolf.
I thought Chang was boring personally. I find Mantis more interesting because I am getting banged around on that and it something to talk/yell about. Chang is just really smooth, graceful, and force less (like many B&Ms) with your typical B&M layout.
I don't find anything wrong with Iron Wolf. I can list MANY rides that I have ridden that have been a lot worse then Iron Wolf. See roughness makes a ride unique. If I ride a coaster that is rough, I will generally laugh about it and that makes it fun.
^ I also enjoy a rough ride, not much harm in it. I think the smoothness of S:UF makes me hate it so much. Wolfie is just fine the way it is, new trains will greatly help it, but will not miraculously fix the ride. That roughness is it's charm.
