Who is nice to you that seems sincere?

A Off-Topic forum to discuss things that aren't related to the Amusement Park Industry.

There is a side to me that says that waitress seems really nice, and she's friendly because she wants to be, but than there is the other side which is that she doesn't care blasted one thing about me, and all she wants is my money, and the only way to get my money is to be nice to me.

Sometimes, I think that the most sincere nice people might be working at Kmart, Dominick's, Jewel, or Kohl's. Why? It's because they don't have to be nice to me at all. They are not getting paid commission or tip to be nice. The car dealer though is trying to get on my good side to get me to buy his car on the lot.

I'm starting to really hate the fake "Thanks for coming", or the waving at Great America when on the train from the Roaring Rapids people. They are forced to say that, and do that. It doesn't seem like they really care that you are there keeping the place in business (the "Thanks for Coming Thing").

Are we in a world that unless someone has money or gifts, we don't care about other people? When traveling down a street, there was a car zooming fast, and there was a guy crossing a street. That stupid guy could have killed him. Did he really care?? Nope.
"I've been staring at the world, waiting. All the trouble and all the pain we're facing. Too much light to be livin' in the dark. Why waste time? We only got one life. Together we can be the CHANGE. So go and let your heart burn bright"

I think it's just that some people are better at pretending to be genuine.
Every jumbled pile of person has a thinking part that wonders what the part that isn't thinking, isn't thinking of.

Money and Power make the world go round. Never forget that and you are one step ahead of the game.

Try leaving a small or no tip for awful service and you will see their view change 180 degrees. I saw it at WDW at the Crystal Palace when the guy was pissed I did not leave him a 15 dollar tip(we still left 7 bucks) for 2 people despite the fact he checked on us a grand total of twice in 50 minutes. He went from super nice to "here is your receipt, by."
