This is a 12 year old B&M we're talking about, not a wooden coaster, or a 31 year old Schwarzkopf (see Shock Wave at SFOT). All the track needs is paint, and SFGAm is easily capable of that. Besides, B&M doesn't even make the track. B&M track is fabricated at a plant in southern Ohio.
What are you talking about? It was a suggestion. Why would they take down Chang this early, if they aren't planning to do something.

Because SFKK wants the water park expansion next year. Yeah I always laugh when I read the whole "B&M track rehab" predictions
What is there to be rehabbed?

rehab for new theme, if it get converted to floorless. etc.
"I've been told that some part of every wish will be heard but lately I lost sight of the truth in those words."
That has nothing to do with the track though. Re-theme for Six Flags is a paint job and some cardboard cut outs next to the ride. And the trains can be done off site. They can't just alter the entire track, it would cost way to much and would be a waste of time.
conversion to floorless would include 3 new trains from Switzerland along with the movable floor mechanism from where ever they get that from (I think also comes from Switzerland). That's it really. Consign will write new programming for the ride and update the control system.
Favorite Wood Coasters: The Voyage, Ravine Flyer II, Thunderhead, Balder Favorite Steel: Voltron Nevera, Steel Vengeance, Expedition GeForce, Olympia Looping Parks visited: 239, Coasters Ridden: Steel: 937, Wood: 179, Total: 1116
And really, Chang would be the parks new Mega Looper. If you think about it, when Shockwave was removed we lost a mega looper. Chang would take that place.
According to a few maintenance guys I was talking with we won't see any track until late next season. De-Construction will start talking place late next season as well. Seeing that I am new here I am viewed as a non credible source. To those of you I will say "I told you so" next year.
(sings)If you want to be my Chang-y, doesn 't matter if your black or white, or brown, or blue, or green, or red, or orange, or mauve, or yellow... 2010 trips- Dollywood, SFGAm, maybe SoCal

He means SSA which is odd since they can't taken it down, prep that area for Chang and put it back together all in ONE off season. Pretty sure they want Chang to be up by opening day 2011

Talk is cheap, let see some evidence like a press release. Oh yeah what do you mean deconstruction?
I think he means de-construction of Chang's area. We're so hasty to believe that we MUST get Chang in SSA's site. Why don't they build it twards the back of the park?
^Where? They can't build it where SWF was, it's to small. They can't build it behind Eagle. I doubt they will remove Iron Wolf and extend it into the parking lot. Where else could it go besides SSA?
13 - GateKeeper 14 - Millennium Force 15 - Enchanted Tales with Belle
^Wasn't there a Firght Fest scare zone there in 2008? I'm not sure if it was there for 2009 as well. But I don't see it staying around much longer. All it's being used for right now is storage.

I agree with you 100% Even though most people hated it, I loved The Shockwave. In my opinion Superman really didn't make up for the Shockwave removal, but Chang would definately fill that gap nicely (Especially if they paint it blue)
fright fest attractions are not counted as actual new attractions on a whole as they are only out for one month of the season...The rest of the season that area would be empty??? Nah, SSA will be gone by summer 2010 I can feel it. Then they will prep that area for Chang before official constrution begons (September/October)
What is so hard to understand? They Had to remove CHANG this year to build the new water park addition for next year. Who know's where CHANG will go, but if they plan on making CHANG floorless, it makes sense that it wont open next year. Its not as easy as you think to just dismantle, change the ride, and demolish an area, prep it and build/open the ride all in 1 off season.

Who said it was opening next year? OxyHotel was just explaining his opinion that the area would be cleared starting sep/oct to prep for Chang ASSUMING that's where it will be built.

July/August 2010: Space Shuttle America comes down(Go Karts in SWF area since opening day) August/September: Land preparation/supports October/November: Chang goes up April 2011: Chang reopens

Except the SFKK water park addition will not open until 2011..
Water park additions are not as easy to add as u may think this is a BIG addition to SFKK and they can't remove Chang, prep that area and put up Bonzai Beach al in one off season,
