Haven't been to Noah's Ark since I was a kid many moons ago, I remember it being pretty awesome. Been meaning to go back for the past few years, this might be just the addition to finally get me back up to the dells.

AN AQUA LOOP!?!? WTF? That is awesome! I always speculated on what that would be like.
Have a take and don't suck, it's the Jim Rome Show!

Here's a link to the official publication from White Water West on the ride design, with some cool pictures.

http://www.whitewaterwest.com/template/ ... uaLoop.pdf

What I don't get is how the "loop" looks different in the pictures. For example, on the bottom of page 2, the drawing on the left gives the impression of a true vertical loop (think 1st or 2nd loop on Demon). Along with the picture of the actual ride on the bottom right. However, the picture at the bottom right of page 3 makes it look more like the inclined loops on Raging Bull.

Either way, it will be a great addition to Noah's Ark.

I already knew this months ago... It was in Amusement Today. There was an ad for the aqua loop, which had a "2010 additions section", which had Noah's Ark and a couple other waterparks.

It's like an inclined loop but instead of being at 45 degrees it's at 69-75...kinda lame, also I'm just going to have to point out that this is not America's first looping water slide, as there was a looping waterslide at Action Park in NJ (which closed after many deaths and accidents...couldn't see that coming with such attractions as a looping water slide) but yeah here's a pic of it (it did a real loop, none of this banked turn crap)

A sneak preview of Scorpion's Tail has surfaced on Wisconsin Dell's Facebook and by the looks of it they have taken out one of the Point of No Return slides.

Also, they say that "It's the country's first and world's tallest loop-de-loop waterslide."

It looks great to me!

Based on that pic, you don't invert at all, not even close.
I finally retired the Sarah Palin signature because she is now 100% irrelevant.

^Yea, it is more of an over-banked turn than a loop. But judging by other looping waterslides, this design is much safer than other slides before it. Now i'm wondering where the top of this slide will be. Will it be on the top of Point of No Return or on a platform below it?

I think it will depend on your speed through the slide, however upsidedown may be a relative term on this ride. If you go fast enough your trajectory would probably take you on the top half of the top of the loop, which may be considered upsidedown. It'd be an inversion if you were to count say, Supermans heartline as an inversion. While it's an inversion relative to the right side up position you're normally in, however you never really go truly upsidedown in the feet directly over head sense of the word.

I don't think a true loop is all that possible on a waterslide like Action Parks, main problem being if you don't have enough speed at the top of the loop you're going to fall face first onto the other side of the tube then slide backwards and after the 90 degree point you'll fall back to the other side of the slide before valleying out. While it'd be cartoonishly funny to see, it'd be pretty counterproductive to the safety of the ride.

I do wish there was more to the ride though rather than drop, loop, end, though for something unusual like this, capacity will definitely be a concern. Should be a fun ride none the less I'm thinking.

They are REALLY stupid for not building two of them. That parks makes so much GD money (same for Mt Olympus) but it seems like the owners are two cheap. Why would you build such a hyped up large attraction like this and only have one?

Although, I will be interested to see what Mt Olympus will do to top it.

What i don't get is why everyone thinks becuase it has "loop" in the name that it has to be upside down. To be honest i think this look like a lot of fun because of how unique it is. I think it will Be as tall as the Point of no return if not taller. Here is another point. I think this will qualify as one of those rides that has Intimidation factor. One that a lot of people will stand around and watch and say no way i am getting on that! That already happens with Point of no Return. Last time I was at the park I went on point of no return 3 times without waiting much longer than the walk up and maybe about 4 people in front of me. It also looks like there will be a nice pop of airtimejust before the splashdown.

^agreed. I wonder how fast you'll have to be going. Do you think anyone would stall up there? Or even valley before you even reach the top?

if you look at the picture there is an escape hatch just befor the loop so that you can get out if someone valleys.

It will DEFINATELY be posslble to valley in it. That would account for the access panel at the bottom of the swoop, as well as the access pannel at the very top of the loop along with the platform. Still looks like fun! If you are going to try to valley, just don't do it while i am waiting behind you !!!
