A new ride called G-Force has recently opened at Old Town in Orlando, FL where passengers can go speeds exceeding 120MPH. It's basically just an S&S Thrust Air, but the car is, well, an actual car which might take away some of the thrill. The ride only lasts for maybe 5 seconds and can cost $27 to ride. The cool part is that you're actually racing the person on the other side, so it might be worth it.Details here (scroll down a little bit)
TTD will still be the fastest roller coaster. G-Force is is going to be the fastest thrill ride. G-Force is probably less thrilling than TTD. I would probably only go on it once considering its $27.

I agree. I would have to be really amazed by it to pay $27 to ride a 5 sec. ride!!
My Top 5 coasters:1)Top Thrill Dragster 2)Millennium Force 3) Raging Bull 4)Deja Vu 5)V2
I was reading about this a few days ago, and when this ride is at full strength it will be around 130mph. and will get to that speed in just under 2 seconds. Which is twice as intense as Top Thrill Dragsters launch. That launch has got to be insane, but I doubt it's worth $27.Dave who also didn't think Top Thrill Dragster was worth a trip to CP this year.
in my opinion, it's not that impressive. Especially for 27 bucks!? No way would I pay for it. I'll just ride Dragster and get a ride thats a bit more than a launch. I don't care if the launch is more drawn out. And, if I want a launch thats just as intense as this rides, I'll go to Japan and hop on Dodonpa. Sure, it's only 107 mph, but it too launches in under 2 seconds. I doubt at that speed 10-20 mph will make it feel that much different, plus, I'll get a coaster ride with the launch.
From the pictures, it looks like it's just launch, then brakes, because it's only 600 feet of track, and 200 of it is for the launch. And people said TTD was short
G-Force is an S&S Snowshot-type ride. Yes, it just launches then slows down. On that site there is also a short clip of the snowshot; it doesn't look like much, but it probably is actually pretty fun. I do think it's kind of expensive, though. It's not worth the $27, although I probably would maybe ride it once just for fun...
Orlando's Old Town has clarified that its G-Force Top Fuel Drag Race is the fastest "accelertating" ride, not the fastest overall, which is a claim made by Cedar Point for its Top Thrill Dragster. TTD will still have the record

were you talking to me, because i know, i know all about the ride, i was just saying he was crazy for not liking thrill rides.
I don't see what the issue is anyways.Even if this new attraction does beat TTD's speed, does it really matter?TTD will still be the fastest Rollercoaster regardless. So you CP fanboys can breathe easy now.
I finally retired the Sarah Palin signature because she is now 100% irrelevant.
Well, If I was ever down in Orlando again I would definatly shell out the green to ride this. I love racign espically drag racing. I really wanted to take a trip to ride TTD this summer. The acceleration is what gets me into it.And who cares if it is just Acceleration then brakes...real dragsters go 0-300 in 4 seconds, then they hit the brakes (and parachute ). I guess if it is supposed to be an acceleration ride then it accomplished its goal.A while back I read about a comparison of acceleration . It went something like S:TE, TTD, Dondompa, Top Fuel Dragsters (the real cars), Aircraft carriers....Anyone else ever see anything like this?
I saw something like that but it was just roller coasters. I would have thought that a top fuel dragster would have out accelerated a plane on an aircraft carrier because top fuelers do 0-100 in about .8 of a second.
My Top 5: 1)TTD, 2)Millennium Force, 3)Raptor, 4)Deja Vu, 5)Raging Bull
Lol, surely you mean Dodonpa. I mean c'mon, Dinotopia? Jeez... [At least I'm pretty sure there ain't no fast-accelerating ride named Dinotopia.]Might as well give this link:Dodonpa Video.
I saw that video back when the ride was brand new. I forgot how sweet that launch looks. I'm practically drooling over it. I really hope I'm able to get to Japan to ride it within the next few years.
LOL! It's a Japanese spelling. Hardest thing to spell. Acually aircraft carriers have more acceleration than Dragsters. In about 100 feet they get thoes jets up past 150 knots (or so some TV show said). I don't think that compairs to space shuttle launches. Sustained 5-7 G's of acceleration? It may not seem like that thing is going fast, but It is. Mach 6&7.
When the shuttle launches, I think it's a sustained 3 Gs or so. No way would it be 5 or 7.But if aircraft carriers are 150 knotts, thats fast. Isn't that around 180 to 200? I forgot the exact conversion for knotts to MPH.
You may be right about the 3 G's of acceleration, and I believe it reaches around 14 mach.I don't know military jets too much, but most buisness jets have a rotate speed (pull up to take off) of 130 knots. They arn't loaded with weapons and also have a larger wing surface area.**Edit..Online sources are telling me that aircraft carriers go from 0 to 150 knots in less than one second. Landing aircraft are moving at 150 knots and must decelerate with the help of a hook in 320 feet. The most G-forces that I have found are ejection seats in fighter jets. The body experiences 40+ g's for a fraction of a second. Enough to break vertabrae and arms.
Also, I've heard if you eject 2 times (or maybe it's 3) the military won't let you be a pilot anymore. I've also heard that you can end up a half inch shorter, too. Ejecting is something I hope I'll never have to do (and probably won't, I have no plans no becoming a pilot. )
Well, when you eject you ruin a 40 million dollar aircraft. Your going to get some angry tax payers. I don't see any amusement rides matching this kind of acceleration anytime soon. (When you eject at 600 knots, roughly the speed of sound, the wind is enough to shatter your visor, crush your ribs, and give you third degree burns (it peels skin off the body))T_Biggs is going to be the little guy in a yellow jumpsuit directing other men in orange jumpsuits on an aircraft carrier.*Kyle Is going to be the person who gets to have the fun job of pulling the arming pins out of the ordinance.*
