1: Its my favorite drop of any coaster ive been on, better than TTD and Kingda Ka's drops.

2: The ride is nothing like it looks, its very bizarre.

3: Get there when the park opens. If you have to wait in the huge line do it, its not like you can go to SFMM and not ride their best ride.

X2 is one of the few rides thats so intense it takes my breath away, make sure to ride Xcelerator while your down there because thats one of the other ones that does (the launch/tophat are more intense on it than the bigger versions of it).

I Wonder if the ride is smoother due to the X/X2 Transform.

/\ Although its not rough, that last raven turn and the lie to fly can really beat up your legs. Also if the restraint isnt on really tight you bounce around in it which is not comfortable at all.

I've ridden X (the original), and here are my thoughts about it:

My questions are #1 Is is gut renching on the drop - I don't think that people the first they go on the lifthill think that's emotional trauma when they see the first hill, but when they are on it, and it's happening to them, they might be like whoa that was weird.

#2 is this ride crazy as it looks - To me, sort of. The ride was rough before (and what I've heard is that it's still rough). During the ride the seats flip upside down which is unique to any roller coaster out there. This ride is a ton more intensity than King Chaos which isn't saying much for King Chaos.

#3 is it worth maybe a two hour wait? If you enjoy rough rides, I would say yes. If your favorite ride is a smooth B&M, and you hate those Arrows like Demon, or let's say you hated Deja Vu, you aren't going to like this ride in my opinion. This ride to me banged my legs around. However, the trick (Yes, like Iron Wolf) that I figured out is to put my legs up above the seat on a like a plastic part, and they didn't bang anymore.

I have not ridden it but I have been wanting to ride it ever since it was built. I remember watching a really cool video of the ride over and over again when it first opened. I hope to go there soon, like next year or in a couple of years.

X2 is actually one of my favorite coasters. I ended up waiting 3 hours last summer with 2 train op and it was worth the wait! It is a little bit rough but the seats are comfortable and unique in the way of how the restraint system works. It ride is very quick and the ending sneaks up on you..Still, its worth the wait if it doesn't break every 20 minutes and its not 100 degrees outside.

A furious storm once roared `cross the sea, catching ships in its path, helpless to flee. Instead of a certain and watery doom, the winds swept them here to Typhoon Lagoon!

X2 is great! The drop is awesome and the rest of the ride is just a blast. And I agree X2 is a one of its kind experience. Even if you have to wait all day for it do it. Because you can always go to another park and rides B&Ms and Arrows (well except X ;) ). Also the soundtrack and the fire effects are awesome.

X2 is definitely not how it looks, the whole ride is just a crazy experience, with you not even realizing where you are for most of it! Its my favorite roller coaster out of the 102 I've been on, and that first drop is just pure insanity! Its definitely worth a 2 hour wait, and I would wait as long as I had to. If you go to Magic Mountain and don't ride it, well then there's no point in going there! And then of course theres the fire... words cannot describe how awesome it is! So go ride it!!

I cant wait till February 27/28th of 2010 when I get to ride it again!

X is my very favorite roller coaster. Take what BP/19 and Zjohn said and that's my opinion. Especially the 100 degrees part. The desert can be ruthless.
Every jumbled pile of person has a thinking part that wonders what the part that isn't thinking, isn't thinking of.

After getting an opportunity to marathon X2 at the West Coast Bash, here's what I can answer about it. While the drop is good, I wouldn't consider it gut wrenching. The raven turns, especially the second one, are more gut wrenching. It feels like you are being pulled into a vacuum. The ride is more crazy than it looks. I've never been thrown around like a rag doll, felt so out of control, and totally at the mercy of a ride before I rode this. Yes, it is worth a 2 hour wait. It is a must do when you are at MM. The whole ride has a bouncy, pulsating feel to it because of the extra rails. There is no headbanging because the restraint is like a class III life preserver vest, more like you are wearing it. It does beat up your legs pretty good because they hit the edge of the seat. I found that keeping my legs extended helped prevent this. You do get tossed into the restraints occassionaly too. I had them secured as tight as I could, but I was still able to pry them open an inch without much effort as I was leaving the station. Overall, a great experience and a top 3 ranking for me.

Well the main reason X2 had a "bouncy" feel to it is because of the length of the cars. They stick out off the track about 8-10 ft. Also Arrow's have the gap between wheels and the rails. So every time it goes into an element the cars give a bit. And every the wheels slams on the rain, the leverage from the length of the car makes you bounce. I found that if you have a heavy person on the outside seat it will damper the bounce. But I prefer getting beaten up anyway. I rode the back row by myself on the outside seat and it was nuts.

The thing is, I started feeling the bounciness right out of the station before the lifthill. I did get to ride it with a handful of different riders and from both inside and outside seats, nearly every row, and both trains. The bounciness felt the same everywhere I rode. I could not tell a significant difference in ride quality between the inside and outside seats, even knowing every opinion I heard on this coaster is that the insides are smoother. I have ridden Sheikra from the outside seats and didn't feel any kind of bounce. I should be riding Griffon later this year, which has to have as wide of trains as X2, and I don't expect to feel any bounce. I did see an online interview recently with the S&S engineer who came up with the 4D concept back in the mid 90's. He mentioned that the outside seats of X traveled 5 inches vertically when the ride opened in 01'. That's why it was closed for nearly a year in 01-02, so they could modify the seats and put some kind of suspension in them. I never rode the original X. Whatever the reasons X2 has this feel, it only contributes to it's uniqueness.
