PTR: Walt Disney World Resort

Let us know how your day at the park was.
Postby LaTiNoObSeSeDSFGAm on August 30th, 2009, 12:25 am
Went to Orlando and visited Walt Disney World Resort. Because my friend is in the military, we got some sweet discounts. We got the park hopper and went to all parks in 2 days. FIrst we started the day with Animal Kingdom, then to Hollywood Studios, Epcot, and finally Magic Kingdom. Dont really like to type on what my entire day went so here are just some pictures that I uploaded.

Loading on to the plane. Candid shot.

Another candid shot. Here we arrive to the airport and have to take a monorail to go to the exit gate. Pretty sweet for an air port.

We finally started our day at Animal Kingdom.

Warning: There will be a couple of pictures of me posing in front of scenery. So you might get tired of me.

Beautiful Scenery.

We went on that ride (background I forgot the name) And it was really fun.

Finally left Animal Kingdom and went to the Board walk.

Anything with a 1950's theme interests me. Loved the theme of this park.

We arrived just in time for the 3:00 parade. It was great.

They asked the person in front of me to dance, he said no, so I got in and shook it.

Awesome ride.

A nice model.

We left Hollywood studios and finally arrived to Epcot.

On our way to Magic Kingdom

We got there at night and it was beautiful with all the nights on.

We got there in the middle of the night time parade. The music and firework show was great with all the Disney music.

Ended the day with some great sundae!

Tree of Hope?
http://themeparkcritic.com/scripts/profile/ViewProfile.asp?ViewID=2909
A furious storm once roared `cross the sea, catching ships in its path, helpless to flee. Instead of a certain and watery doom, the winds swept them here to Typhoon Lagoon!

Tree of Life. I took a picture of the sign when I went so I would remember :P Seems like you did nearly the same thing I did when I was there about 2 weeks ago, every park in 2 days, except I didn't do the Boardwalk. Also, what kinds of discounts did your friend get for military? It was very expensive for me, $221 for the 2 days with park hopper. If you want to see my trip report, it's a few threads below this one (currently) and WDW is in the middle since I hit most of the big parks in Orlando.

This man is a legend, and worth billions, all because of a mouse!

While I agree he's a legend, I was wondering if you know who that is?

Haha, I was gonna ask the same question.

That guy doesn't look like Walt. Maybe, it's Roy Disney. I have no idea. The reason why the picture isn't with Walt is because he's no longer living at that time (the time when the Magic Kingdom was built).

It's Roy O. Disney. He took over building the park once Walt died (and was the one to give it the name Walt Disney World.) The picture is from the grand opening, which was Roy's last public act for Disney before he died 2 months later.

I really do the love One Man's Dream area the photo is from. So much history in that one area and the film is not bad either.

Its Walts brother Roy, when Walt died Roy came out of retirement to oversee the construction of WDW and ended up dieing not long later most likely due to the stress of the project.

Edit: /\ Beat me to it :)
