Dinseyland 08-10-09

Let us know how your day at the park was.
Postby Director_Guy on August 18th, 2009, 10:26 pm
In typical me like fashion, and I'm sure many of you would do the same, within the first week of living in Southern California I kidnapped my girlfriend and we quickly headed to Disneyland!
Image
Guess what, me! It's time for some Disneyland action!

Image
Ah, it's good to be back.

Image
Crowds were light in the beginning of the day, but it didn't take long to bring on the mobs.

Image
Meg fakes a smile and contemplates pushing me over the edge for making her drive today.

:0

Image
Meg and I make beautiful music together...

Image
After some Mansion Action (Manction)...
Image
...and some wandering around...
Image
We decided to face our irrational fear of Monstro on the Storybook Canal.
Image
Here goes nothing.
Image
Oh God...
Image
It's coming closer!
Image
Ah! AHHH!!!

Image
Hey look! A ride we didn't ride today!
Image
Goat.

Today was more about doing things at a leisurely pace and doing things we hadn't done before.

Image
Neither of us had been on The Mark Twain, nor had we ever seen what was on the other side of Tom Sawyer Island.
Image
See? Disneyland can be as pretty as Walt Disney World... you just have to look harder.

Image
Hmm...
Image
Image
Image
Injuns!
Image

Heading over into Disney's California Adventure, we saw this poor pup.
Image
Adorable. Sad, but adorable.

Image
Maybe not "bad tower"... more like "not as good tower".

Image
Watch out, shadow! There's a mysterious hand coming after you!
Image
Image
I always geek out about the themeing on this ride.

Image
Step one: Om
Step two: Nom
Repeat.

Oh my god...
Image
It's That Guy!

Image
Astonished by our That Guy encounter, we needed a place to sit... to our surprise, our seat spun and was shaped like a lady bug.

Image
Bug people only.

Image
Construction.

Image
Lady in a red dress eats some of this so-called "iced cream".

On the list of things yet to experience,
Image
Image
The line was way too long for the swinging cabins, sadly.
Image
Roller coaster!
Image
Sad.
Image
Well, that was fun.

Image
Hidden? Mickey!

Image
Baby ducks?
Image
Baby ducks!

Image
Albino Mickey Balloons?
Image
Anyone order some ham?

Image
I'm having a great time.

Image
Blurry whip.

Image
Ah, so nice being all alone in this picture I feel like I...
Image
Oh sweet Jesus!

Image
More Manction!

Image
Turkey legs make people feel like a king.

Image
Hey, things are really speeding up around here...

Image
Let's finish off the day with some Matterhorn...ction.
Image
Image
"I'm so tired."
Image
"Yeah, well, you don't have to drive home."

The End.

Of course I will! As long as people keep reading and commenting on them.

SFGAm's design is heavily influenced by Disneyland. When Great America opened the food and merchendise were themed to the area they were in, employees costumes were themed to the area they were in, the architecture of and designs of the buildings and structures were themed to the area they were in. Marriott took this all right out of Disneyland's book as at that time those were pretty much the only companies to do that.
Heck SFGAm even has a firehouse .

But ive never seen anything like (or as overcrowded/successful) as Disneyland, you cant really compare the SF product to the Disney product.
