SFMM Revo shortcut

Talk about anything that has to do with the amusement park industry here.
Postby TwistedSTEEL666 on June 8th, 2009, 5:11 pm
OK, I heard about this before, that at SFMM there's a Revolution shortcut to the back of the park and to rides like Tatsu and Terminator.

I plan to take my very first trip to SoCal and SFMM next year and I'd like to know this short cuts exact location.
I'm a visual kind of person, I need to see where it is...perhaps if someone could draw a line on an SFMM map to show me where it starts and ends.

This short cut takes you around Viper and X2, right?

Ok, I think I know what your talking about, but theres two different ways you can go

1) (RED line on map)take the cable car type thing called orient express which will take you to the top of the "mountain"(where the circles are is where orient express begins and ends) and then from there you would go left and theres a path the basically goes right under the transfer area for Tatsu's two stations heading to the lift, that path will end under tatsu's first drop and you would turn right and its a straight shot to terminator (You go under Revolution and through a wooded area)

2) (YELLOW line on map) I think this would be the fastest way as im not sure if orient express is open all the time(keep in mind your going up a hill) you basically from the main enterance head left towards X2, past the carosuel and as soon as you go under the Bridge that leads to X2 take a sharp right and go up the stairs, then go straight across past panda express and keep following the path straight, you'll go under Revolution through a wooded area and then come to Tatsu, and keep going straight right under Tatsu's first drop and that path leads right to the Terminator area.

Hope I helped you a little Im not 100% sure on this because Iv'e only been to SFMM for a weekend, but im pretty sure, If someone else who goes there more often knows the right way, please correct me.

Thanks...

I think the red one is the best path for Tatsu, correct? That's what I plan to ride first when I get to SFMM.
I think there's another path via Revolution's exit path? Something about
before you go up the ramp to the station, make a right and go through the exit, it gets you to Tatsu, Termy, and the back of the park faster

Can you show this shortcut as well, if not already shown?

uh yeah actually I forgot about going through Revolutions exit path, it basically comes out if you were to draw a straight line to the left of the little station house on the map for revolution, however Idk if you can just walk right through there you might have to like go up to the station and just walk through the air gates across or something, Im not really sure about that to much as I only rode Revolution once.

And yeah the Red line is probably the fastest way, but im not sure if orient express is open and ready to go first thing in the morning... when I was there alot of people went to X2 first (which didnt even open till 25 minutes after the park did) but one of the days I went straight to tatsu first and got 5 rerides on it. that was at the end of Feb though so I would imagine its much more crowded in july.

My reccomedation if your going to be there at opening is to head left and ride X2. After X2 keep following the yellow path on that map and follow the directional signage to Tatsu. You might want to knock out STE while your up there also because of its horrible capacity. Then go to Terminator, then DejaVu, then Riddler/Batman and the rest of the rides from there.

Reason I say this is because Scream/Revolution pretty much never have long lines (and if they do, the lines for the main coasters will be way way longer), Viper can get a line though like all Arrow coasters typically dies down at night, Goliath gets a line but has the best capacity in the park and id much rather wait in a semi tolerable line like that than an enormous X2 or Tatsu line.

yeah definetly get STE out of the way EARLY! I made the mistake of forgeting about it and having to wait an hour... Scream! is perfect for rerides!

When does STE start to get really long lines?
How late can I wait before I ride it?
And does it have Flashpass?

STE doesnt have Flashpass, it runs one train with 15 seats plus is the tallest roller coaster in the park. You can imagine how that line gets. If you dont do it after X/Tatsu you may as well not do it at all, dont wait a long time for such a crappy ride.

I know people flock to X^2 first at that park, but what about Goliath? Isn't that where they all are at the beginning of the day?

I agree that Superman the Escape is just a boring forceless ride. I like rides like Mr. Freeze, and V2 but that is just wimpy, and pointless in my opinion.
