Well I decided I needed a few more credits and said what the heck i'll go to Kentucky Kingdom, Certainly no Magic Mountain but it will do. I was actually kinda impressed by the place, yeah they may not have the best selection of rides but it was a pretty nice looking place. I think the only grief I had about this place was the fact that every coaster was only running one train (besides Road Runner Express of course) Although that wasn't much of a problem because there wasn't many people there at all. I think the longest I waited was 7 minutes for the front row of Chang! And I got all all my credits in just over an hour.
I think my favorite part of the day was the sky coaster, which is 180 feet and only 15 bucks per person! Kinda makes dare devil dive seem like a rip off, after all how much do they charge for that? Like 30 bucks or something right? Anyway I really really wanted to ride deluge but didn't bring a swim suit eh oh well i'll get over it. It also sucks that twisted twins had to go all SBNO on us
Chang - 3 - This was a surprise for me, I found it to be great! After riding mantis and not liking it that much I was sceptacle of chang, but it was awesome! I dont know if I like chang or riddlers revenge better.
Greezed Lightnin - 30 - I finally got to ride Tidal Wave, and man it was great!!! Plus the crew was really quick and let you bring your camera onboard with permisson!
Thunder Run - 3 - Also another surprise for me, I really enjoyed this one, great pops of air and was fairly smooth.
Roller Skater - 1 - Whore.
T2 - AWFUL! It reminded me how much I hate SLC's idk why I thought the one in Mexico was good... But this one was certainly horrible. The whole time i was just saying to myself "Im doing it for the credit, I need the credit" not an enjoyable experience.
Road Runner Express - 1 - This one wasnt good either, every turn my leg slammed into this dumb bar and it killed, It was pretty rough and the cars were not comfortable at all, at least TDK is more modern.
I also went on The penguins blizzard river which was my very first rapids ride (yes iv'e never been on roaring rapids) it was pretty good and I came off drenched from head to toe, I think my socks were still wet on the 4 and a half hour ride home....
There was a few other flats I also rode but dont really feel like remembering at the moment.
Onto the pictures!
Here we are
Thank god they had an express lane for season pass holders or I would have had to wait in a rediculously long line to enter the park.
ah man why did they have to take it out I was really hoping I could leave without feet today..
B&M to the rescue!
its so photogenic and basically towers over SFKK
First you go up...
Then you go down
chunky B&M footers
nerd shot
why it only has 7 rows i dont know
im not so sure the trains match that well with the paint colors, I mean where did the red come in?!
I really just wanted to turn around and run the other way screaming
oh no, gulp.
dont even look at it, just get in and out of there as fast as possible!
on the bright side... SKY COASTER!!
extreme low to the ground bankage
is it just me or does this look really cool?
yum
now this is something to celebrate about!
yes there is a road that goes through the middle of the park
loopage, with plenty of forces
lets go ride tidal wave!
sideways pictures are all the rage now a days
TIDAL WAVE!!
yeah, it goes that fast.
Six Flags is so cheap they cant even afford to change the lables on control panels, im 99% sure this ride is not called "viper" anymore...
must have, loop shot
Through the trees
brought to you by the giant wheel!
seeeeee!
whoooooooooooooaaaaa this is greeeaaaatttt!
mmm schwartzkopt
hmm i think ill go once or twice more... or just marathon it and end up with 30 rides on it!
There was like a billion of these adds all over the place! they even had them on station windows like Iron wolf now has! there so annoying, mabey you better tone it down buddy!!!
another good ride
The flags are a nice touch
weeeee
It has a nice look to it
here comes thunder run thundering down the track
again from the giant wheel
dive loop
more credits
you whore.
not the best ride
T2 was so faded it almost looked like it was suppose to be gray
here you can see how twisted chang is
This has I love my job written all over it
Chang is so graceful
This was good
anyone order corkscrew?
That deluge thingy
They had tons of theses fans that spray mist and they were actually on! points for SFKK!
This is what we call a bridge
I was hangin with Chang
Im guessing this is from back when the park used to be called just Kentucky Kingdom
They even have there own benches
The End

What is T2 anyway? Need to look that on up! Chang looks cool! Man Tidal wave I mean GL would look so weird at SFGAm now...ho many years has it been? Too bad the ride is like 30 seconds...
T2 is a V1.0 Vekoma SLC, it was the first one in the USA and only the second in the world. Most other SLC's you come across are the newer kind (minor differences, but 2.0 is way smoother most of the time).
As far as Chang, it is a fun ride. Doesn't really belong at that park.they'll take care of that sooner rather than later

It says it means Terror to the 2nd power, but I thought it was something like Terror Twister. (Maybe, I just got that Terror Twister from Great America, but sometimes they have the same name at two parks.) I forgot. It's been a long time until I went to that park, and I didn't really like it except for a couple rides & Chaos which is now GONE.
I think it originally was going to be a Batman the Ride because it's black, and there was a Batman stunt show to the left of it. On top of that, you have Penguin's Blizzard River to the right of it. I don't know why it never became Batman. Maybe, they are like this ride is that bad we can't call it Batman.
I think SLC is a little bit different model than most of the other ones.
I find it ironic about the name of the Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom tower. They rethemed to Superman Tower of Power, and something bad happened, but yet when it was the other name, nothing bad happened which is kind of ironic.

Glad to hear you had a good time. In all honesty, I believe this park has tons of potential but I think the fairgrounds is probably the biggest obstacle they face when it comes to approval...that and the fact that it's in direct flight path to the airport.
I really enjoyed myself at this park and just like you, managed to get all of the coasters in within 2 hours and 1-train operations (with the exception of RR and T2). It seemed that many people would stay in the front of the park and not cross the bridge until later on in the day. When they did, it was all about the water park which left very little waits for the coasters.
^ yes exactly, many people were at the water park and not many people were in line for coasters, that in itself was great. Also planes were flying overhead all day long, so that kinda limits there potential
From what I remember about Deluge when it first opened is that you can wear street clothes to ride it as the ride is open even when the waterpark isnt.
I finally retired the Sarah Palin signature because she is now 100% irrelevant.

Make sure you get lots of rerides in!
Jackluver18 wrote:I see you like Chang.......a lot lol, it looks like a cool coaster
Yes, despite what some people might say I did like chang very much so.

yeah see I coulda sworn I heard that somewhere, but I didnt wanna be the only freak wearing street clothes on it.
T2 has always been T2. Up until 1999 the ride was painted entirely an obnoxious bright red (you can see it where the black is chipping off on the rails). Between 1998/1999 it was painted black and they were going to call it Batman: The Ride, however supposedly they ran into both licensing issues and B&M quipped about the plan also not caring for an inferior ride carrying the name of one of their more popular products. Not entirely sure which one is more accurate. I doubt licensing was that big of an issue, and I personally don't think it's any of B&M's business what they call it, though the more reliable source i have backs up the B&M part.

haha GOOD choice!

oh wow the whole ride was that color?! Id love to see a picture of that! I though that just the rails or something were the red color, but yeah that ride has bad paint chipping you could see it all over the place
So The Fountain thing replaced Superman? Btw, Did you see any construction or anything by Twisted Twins area.
FParker, I think the Main Reason why they didn't change the name might have been due to Them Rebranding the Park the year before. Probably if they changed the names really fast to major attractions, the public might not know what their names are OR use their old Name which would be Useless.
Coaster Justin wrote:So The Fountain thing replaced Superman? Btw, Did you see any construction or anything by Twisted Twins area.
No, The Fountain was always there, even at the time of superman, They just put like trees over where the ride used to be. Also I couldn't really get a good look over at the twisted twins area because its so far away tucked back in a corner, And There was a Big fence blocking the path off that lead to the ride, you could see it from the ferris wheel but i couldn't tell if they were doing anything over there and the path that lead to the ride looked like it wasn't taken care of with weeds coming out of the ground and such.
I also forgot to mention that the park workers are actually wearing the neon yellow shirts this season too, as last year they still had the blue ones and everyone thought it was the end for the place since they wern't wearing the right ones.
It was kind of funny when I went there and approached one of the workers about it who said that their wardrobe department had too many excess blue shirts and they didn't want to throw them all out so they went one more season with the blue ones....whether that was correct or not it seems kind of odd as I bet all parks probably had a good stash of blue shirts.
For the colored shirts, I know this has happened awhile ago, but why not red colored shirts? Well, you say they want you to notice the workers more? However, look at the color spectrum, and isn't red the highest visible color. That's why a lot of the signs for retail stores are red. That's why those electronic signs for Gas Stations are mostly red. (I've seen one BP with a green electronic sign.) It would make more sense of a red color, because I feel that Six Flags has an American theme going. There website was red before, and now it's blue.
