They hope to offer an alternative to Six Flags for the area by having a heavily themed park with more emphasis on theme, characters, entertainment and even dark rides instead of just coasters. If things go as planned, they are projecting a 2006-2007 opening date. More as we find out.
Screamscape? It must be true, what they say is gospel!No company in their right mind would build a park to comepete with SFGAm, or even ValleyFair! in Wisconsin. There just isn't a customer base to support a park on that scale. Both areas in Wisconsin which have a large, nearby population base have been taken. Milwaukee and Chicago are served by Great America, and the twin cities are served by ValleyFair! Both large population areas in/near Wisconsin are being served, and adding one more park to either would most likely over-saturate that market.But, if it were a small park, like the old Geauga Lake, with only 3 or 4 coasters, a family atmosphere, and good customer service, it could compliment either of the parks. A park like Big Chief would work well, except minus the fumes, minus the supposed horrible customer service, minus the feeling of being in a parking lot all day, plus flat rides, would work great.
It would actually be built by six flags, so the company as a whole wouldn't suffer. Also, Valleyfair isn't in Wisconsin, so there would be less compitition.Also, I have some thoughts on what it could be... Six Flags management, characters, theming, dark rides? If you ask me, I think their planning the nations first Warner Brothers Movie World Park.That would be awesome! It would have everything our park lacks! Good DC theming, Hollywood Blvd., movie studios, stunt shows, and other cool stuff.

It wouldn't be year round because it's too far north. Itf youve ever seen photos of wbmw spain it would probibly be like that with a warner brothers baklot that looks like universal studios florida, a hollywood area, and a really well themed DC area that resembles IOA. I'm just guessing on all of this, but I know for a fact if it was a WBMW park, it would be designed by the company who designed the themed lands for IOA. I dont remember the name of the company, but I can find out. Also, i'm a little pissed at Six Flags because they are selling 156 acres across the highway this winter, and not doing any expansions that would help the park. They didn't build the water park, so they're being forced to sell that land. They could have maybe ripped out the parking lot to add new WB themed areas, but NOOOO they have to build a new park. If you look at the picture on this sight, http://www.greatamericaparks.com/sg/ind ... irg003.jpg , youll see how much land the parking lot takes up, and how they could doulbe the size of the park if they built a parking garage.
There is no way a park in Wisconsin could run seasonal. If you think its cold in Illinois take a trip up there in the winter and you'll be running back home. Six Flags doesn't build parks from scratch and they are still in debt at the time so a development of a future park in Wisconsin is most unlikely to happen. Don't forget that SFGAm is one of the biggest parks in the nation and SF Inc. #3 I feel a park in Wisconsin couldn't beat that especially a new park. Possibility of a small park like T-Biggs said I could believe though but not anything from Six Flags.
I'll beleive it because i've heard it from more that 1 source, but that doesn't mean I want it to happen. I want a new, well themed park, but I would rather it be on our property, not somewhere 30 miles away stealing all of our business, and leaving us in the dust to turn into another Astroworld. And it's not imposible due to debt because they keep adding new rides anyway, and buying/ building up or building totally new parks. I think the reason they would even build the park off our property further is because it would be in a nicer area, and less teens would come and vandalize the park (gum, writing on railings, walls).
Where did this crap about it being a Six Flags park come from? Six Flags would never want to compete with itself. They aren't Walmarts, they are theme parks. They go for high attendance, not convenience.And CrazedFanatic, we have 3 seasonal parks with coasters I can think of off the top of my head. Big Chief, Riverview, and Little A-Merrick-A. Wisconsin can, and easily does have parks that run seasonal.In reality, I don't think its possible for any location in Wisconsin to support another park, beyond the ones we already have. I think the best we could hope for is for one of the 3 that have coasters to get another (Little A-Merrick-A just did, and Big Chief too,) or if Bay Beach would get a coaster. However, since they are run by Green Bay's park and rec, I don't think they have the budget for one.And, I just realized. It's a fairly persistant rumor about a new park near Milwaukee. Could some fool just have said there is a new park in Milwaukee, which was just the fair or something? Over time, it may have gotten blown out of proportion to what it is now.

That's a link to a forum on this sight back in August/September stating that an ACE newsletter even said that Six Flags was going to build a park in Wisconsin. No one in the forums believed the person who posted that, but for an ACE newsletter to say that, and to also state that SFGAm was getting a Dilerium, it's pretty likely.
Give me a break.Six Flags is not going to build a new park from scratch and if they ever did it would not be in Wisconsin.They would focus on an area in the country that doesn't have a major park.Sure, competition would be nice (aka Ohio), but if it was SF, why would they build near SFGAm? I'm not stupid, I know it's unlikely since GAm right near it, they would never have the money, Six Flags never builds their own parks in the U.S., but given the sircomstances, I'm gunna keep my hopes up anyway chitown. Also, this whole forum is rumors, what it could posibly be like if it ever existed, why they would ever build it, and the chances of it happening, so its not like I'm coming out and saying it's totally a fact.
First of all, if SF was building a park from scratch, they would be trying to tap into a market that they aren't in, like ORLANDO. Why build in Wisconsin. That makes a lot of sense.For those of you who don't know what Marcus Corp. is, they own a chain of movie theaters totalling over 500 screens in Ohio, Illinois, Wisconsin and Minnesota. Thats what they are best known for, but they own quite a few other properties. The Pfister and Hilton Hotels in Milwaukee, the entire Baymont Inn chain (formerly Budgetel Inn) the Grand Geneva Resort, Woodfield Suites and restaraunt properties in over 30 states. So they are by no means a small company. They are in the entertainment and hospitality business, so building a theme park may be a smart move for them. I just don't agree with the location, but it is home turf.
Marcus owns Funset Boulevard here in Appleton too! Lol, Travis knows what I'm talkin' about! Anyway, Funset actually does have a cyber coaster simulator thing... But it sucks.
You took the words out of my mouth. They have built very successfull theaters at unusal loctaions, one example would be the Theter they built with the Indian tribe, that was a money maker. My home-town theater opened as the World's Largest Movie Theater: Marcus Cinema-Addison.
