Six Flags Frightfest: Final Trip: 11/02/03(long report)

Let us know how your day at the park was.
Postby sixflagsdude on November 3rd, 2003, 3:37 am
I got to the park by 11:00am. I was supposed to go with a co-worker but he said he didn't wanna go if the rain was gonna be really bad. I told him that it was supposed to be rain all day so he decided to stay home. I parked in lot 32 and got into the park immediately. At first, there was no rain at all, eventually it got awful.I dedided to go on Elvira's Superstition first. This is an awesome motion theater simulation ride. I wish they played this in the shuttle all year, it is much better than the boring space shuttle movie that they normally show. There was no line at all for this, which was awesome. Then I was gonna go on the Whizzer but it was not running. So I went on the Demon instead. This one also didn't have a line. So I rode in the very first car the first time and then the very last car the second time. Then I went on Giant Drop/The Hellevator. I went on this twice since there was no line. This is a drop tower ride that normally has a 90 min wait(at least on the days that I have gone).Next, I went on Raging Bull. This was the first line I waited in all day. It was only about 10 mins though. I sat in the Teal train in the back. Then I went on the Viper, I rode it 2 times in a row. The sounds that this wooden coaster makes is awesome! It sounds even better in the rain for some reason. Then I went on Deja Vu, I think I just made it on since it didn't seem to be running for most of the day. I sat in the very back row. After that, I saw that the Whizzer was open and rode it. I waited about 20 mins since they were only running one train. I noticed TONS of sparks coming from below the train while on the spiral lift. I am not sure if that is supposed to be normal or not.Next, I went on the Orbit and then the Great American Raceway(this was my first time riding it ever. IT is one of those antique car driving things. The layout is cool since they themed it for Halloween.)Then I decided to go on some more flat rides. I rode The Richochet, River Rocker, and Tornado Twister(they played Sandstorm by Darude, an awesome tune). They were all fun but I started getting a little motion sick from not pausing at all between them. It wasn't that bad though. Then I went on Raging Bull, 3 more times(and waited for the front row the 3rd time: I also noticed the log boats from Loggers Run stored behind Giant Drop) and then went on the Hellevator, 4 more times(they played this hillarious flat-line machine sound the last time I was on it)Then I went on the American Eagle, the Red Forwards side. By this time it started raining and didn't let up for the rest of the day.Next, I went on Iron Wolf, which had no line also. Then I went on the Fiddlers Fling and then Iron Wolf again. After that, I went on Batman. I got to ride it 4 times in a row! The last time they played that awesome techno tune in the station(the only words I could make out were "High and in love") and of couse my other fave "The Passenger" from the Batman Forever soundtrack.I rode the Whirligig(swing ride) and then the East River crawler after that. Then I rode Superman: Ultimate Flight, 3 times in a row. The line was the shortest I have ever seen it.Next, I rode the Condor. That ride still freaks me out because it is a wicked concept. Then I rode Raging Bull again and then Superman again(I bought an on-ride pic from each and then put them in my car).Next, I went on Superstition again, I sat in the front row!!Next, I went on the Whizzer, my first time riding it at night, although it was painfull with the rain. Then I went on the Demon at least 4 times in a row(I lost count). By this point the rain was pounding so hard that it was painful(even worse than it was earlier). IT was to the point where not a spot on me was dry at all. I was actually shaking. One of the cool things about the Demon in the rain is that when you go through the rock formation between the two loops the sudden stop of the rain sound makes this aweosme vacuum sound and then you hear a slam(it is hard to describe). I also noticed something else really cool, if you shut your eyes(which I was doing because of the rain) and then suddenly open them halfway through the corkscrew, you get totally disoriented about where you are. All I saw was a bunch of fog and Deja Vu upside down. Oh I also forgot to mention that when I was on the Hellevator, at one point we went into a patch of fog from going up so high.Next, I went on the American Eagle, Backwards Blue side. Then I went on the Iron Wolf 2 more times. By this point the force of the rain was making the rides unbearable. It felt like a bunch of needles pelting me in the face.I noticed the train station nearby and realized I totally forgot to go on it since they re-themed it for Frightfest, it was a Scooby Doo theme. This was soo cool! You started off going into the woods and then all of a sudden you see that the Mystery Machine is broken down. Scooby Doo is leaning out of it and going Help or something like that. Then, you go through some other areas(and can totally see parts of the park that you normally don't get to see). You go through the American Eagle and get to see Velma being chased by a big mummy as she is trying to radio for help. Then you go by the Demon and see Shaggy getting chased by a monster as he is trying to get help. Then you go through the main train tunnel and it is full of strobe lights. They move all these monsters around and it looks so surreal. Then you go through the Demon and see a bunch of skeletons playing music and this one is a jack in the box and his spine is the spring. Then you go over a bridge and by the Viper where you see Fred getting stalked by another creature when he is on the phone. Then after another turn, Daphne does the same thing as she is trying to run away from something in a cemetary. Another cool part is that once you go through Hometown Square they have the old tweety bird cages from the Skywhirl on the ground. Most of them are filled with monsters but one of them was on its side and you see that it has squished a skeleton and it is all bloody. This is only the halfway point!!! Then you stop at the Hometown Square station(which is normally where the ride would end) and you watch a Scooby Doo show where the kids are in the haunted house and trying to capture a monster. There is some chasing around, Shaggy tries to get help, Fred and Daphne are trapped in a net, Velma loses her glasses, blah blah blah. At the end of the show, Scooby comes out in a ghost costume and they all laugh. Oh, I forgot to mention, in part of it, there is a huge spider that spits out it's web in gallons!! It makes the coolest sound and is actually scarry(the spider is holding scooby snacks). So after the scooby show, you go through some more scenery and then through Necropolis, where you can see the HUGE haunted Mosoleum. Then you go by Blood River, which is the roaring rapids dyed red(I wonder if it stains clothes). Then you see another train that is stranded with a skeleton that blows a REALLY LOUD horn at you. After going past the Iron Wolf, you are done. After that, I decided to go on Batman 2 more times(while I was walking there, they had this huge ghost hollogram floating around that was totally cool). Then one of the game operators asked me if I wanted a stuffed animal as I was walking by(they were closing the game stand and getting rid of stuff). She gave me this CUTE Scooby Doo stuffed animal in a red fireman's suit. Ok, Scooby is starting to grow on me now, because it is totally associated with Six Flags.I ended the night on Superman: Ultimate flight. This was the first ride I went on at the beginning of the season, so I decided to end it with it also.I can still totally feel the rain pounding on me right now. After being in the rain for that long and being pounded by it on some coasters that go up to as much as 70mph, I realize how insane I really am for Six Flags. I totally do not feel well right now so I am gonna load up on fluids and go to bed.BTW, I love the Halloween movies and the theme music. However, the constant looping of that music in the park got annoying today. I have heard worse, but still.

WOW! Very Good TR. Very Descriptive. It sounds like you got on a lot of rides. It seemed like it was raining very hard. I wish I could have gone on that day, the park was empty!Well very sadly, we have to wait out the very long off season. It is a pain to not be able to get on a ride.
2010 is going to be one to remember forever!!

Lucky! I wish I could have gone. How many times did you go on each ride? I couldn't really follow.

I know this is kinda off subject but I don't know where to put it. I was their yesterday and I was in line for some nachos and a food worker came in and started talking to her freind and she said "I was talking to (I didnt catch his name) and he said that we are getting a new ride right where Power Dive was". I asked her what, but she said she didn't beleive me. I think it might be the Delirium. (sp?)
Its hard to come up with signatures. When I get one it will be right here.
