May 3rd - Terminator Salvation: The Ride UPDATE!
Hey everyone! We are back from our trans Atlantic cruise, so that means more Terminator updates for all of you! There has been a TON of progress in the past couple of weeks! Check it out below, but you'll see the station fly-by, transfer track area, lots of buildings being framed (I'm assuming pre-show buildings), what looks like the first pieces of area theming on site, and the entrance SIGN! And something very interesting appears to be happening on the ride...but read the update below to find out! (Oh, and be sure to try to answer the Email Dan question!) Enjoy....  Oooh! We have SIGN!  Here is today's cyber-cam shot. As you can see the ride is almost done! .jpg) Quite a difference a few bulldozers, new wood and a couple of years make, huh? =)  Work is being done on the station (to the left) and the transfer track area (to the right)  You can already see some queue is getting set up, and hmm...what is that I see...let's take a closer look...  Could this be...theming???  Have a look at the sign and the bridge.  Zoom out just a little and you can see something being built just on the other site of the bridge. What could that be?  Another look at the current construction. Lots of framework going up. I wonder what those could be for? Pre-show buildings? On-ride photos?  A slightly more zoomed out shot of the entire ride.  Not much wood left over now!  A few random popsicle sticks laying around.  Hmm...two of those things do not belong...let's take a closer look...  I wonder what those beat up cars are for? =)  Oh, they must be for Goliath! My bad!  Here's another look at the entrance area. Let's check out another angle!  Oooh! Peek-A-Boo! What's this I see? I spy TWO TPR members in this picture! Do you know who they are? If you know, EMAIL DAN! mrt0ad13@aol.com The first 10 people with the correct answer will get a TPR Bag-Of-Crap!  Winner every time!  Hmm...looks like another building getting renovated? (Or even demolished?) Maybe this will be Terminator Salvation: The Shop!  With all this goodness going on, in the "disappointing" category, the restrooms by the ride opened back up, and while some work was done (new stall doors, etc) they didn't look that much better than before. There wasn't even a baby changing station! C'mon, SFMM, if you're going to be "family friendly" you should be adding the things that families need that you'll find at other parks!  And from the other side of the bridge you can see some more work being done.  Up, it's a bridge.  Wonder what that shed will eventually be?  Ahh, this is still one of the prettiest shots you can get!  Ooh! Station fly-by! Yay!  Random track.  More station fly-by.  Well, this is interesting..  Are they tunneling in that turn around?  Sort of looks like it! So maybe THIS is what happened to those X2 tunnels!   GCI Station Fly-by = AWESOME!  Another look at the very DENSE first drop!  Want another station fly-by pic? Ok!  My doctor told me that I need to have at least three random track pictures per Terminator Salvation: The Ride update.  Very interesting...  More random track! Is it just me or does it feel like they put it up in a months time? All that wood. All that math required. Man, insane putting up a ride.

I think the first vertical construction we saw was Jan 17th. So it will be about 5 months. And yeah, that does seem FAST to me to put up a wood coaster!

Is it me or does Psyclone look better next to Deja 'Vu? I think the layout of Psyclone fit better. But it is too late, but Terminated should be a darker brown like Psyclone.
What's up with the goliath sign in the field?

Goliath Jr was renamed when that area was rethemed to Thomas Town and they threw the sign back there.
I don't think you realize how much Psyclone deserved the death penalty. It hurt thousands upon thousands of people. Psyclone was a terrorist. Top 5 wood-5-Goliath 4-Ravine Flyer II 3-Phoenix 2-Voyage 1-El Toro

May 10th Terminator Update
 Here is today's overview shot. As you can see a lot of work on the station, the transfer track, the pre-show buildings, and the entrance.  Mr. Big Crane is back in action!  Not much wood yet. There are some trains down there, but you can't see them because the ride is blocking the view!  Here's where a lot of this week's work has been done. Lots of work on the station, transfer, and show buildings.  The ride entrance has gotten some love. Looks like they are going to funnel people through the shop as you exit.  Here you can see the proximity from Psyclone's old entrance and Terminator's new entrance.  Queue areas got some shade and some barrels have been added.  You can see the beginnings of a tunnel that will come right after the station fly through. Maybe we'll see some effects in there? Fog? Lighting? Let's hope so!  Lots of people are on hand today to get this thing done!  Looks like lockers going in just on the other side of the bridge? That's my guess anyway.  What could that strange tall box be for? Onride camera? Handicap elevator? Terminator homing device?  KidTums says "Yay! Now I can ride a B&M floorless!"  Back on ground view now...this looks about the same...  Although a new backstage door has been put in.  Gee, it's really good that I didn't need to change Kristen's diaper being that there isn't a changing area in this "renovated" bathroom. C'mon Magic Mountain, couldn't you have sprung for the $180.25 Dollars that it would have cost to add this? "Renovated Bathroom" = FAIL!  I see some new barbed wire has gone up at the ride entrance.  Yup, there it is in all it's glory.  Here's what the bridge looks like!  And OMG! Bridge from ANOTHER ANGLE!!!! OMG!  This beam has had poop smeared on it!  Mr. Blue Cherry Picker was hard at work today.  For those of you with a cherry picker fetish, this photo's for you!  Station fly by FOR THE FREAKIN' WIN!!!  OMG! Yes....YES!!! It's in station fly by from...ANOTHER ANGLE!!!!  I spy Millennium Flyers!  Trainy, Train. Train. Train...Train....  Still no progress on the tunnel. Maybe they have to wait and see if the train fits through first!  New Sand Blasters name or product placement? You decide!  And finally, we'll end with update with KidTums playing the rings game. What is that?!?!  YES!!! IT IS ALIIIIIIIIVE!!!!!  Speakers. So Christian Bale can yell at the riders.  Ok, ok, enough of the lift hill all ready! Go over the top!  WHEEEEE!!!!!!!  DOUBLE WHEEEEE!!!!  BLURRY WHEEEEE!!!!!  MEGA SUPER JAPANESE BLURRY WHEEE!!!!!  And it's time for a little bit of station fly-by!  Hey, what's that big box doing following the train?  Those aren't water dummies....they are TERMINATORS!!!!  Darkness falls and I count 11 cars. (plus one giant box!)  Somewhere in that madness is a train...can you spot the train? What are they thinking putting 3 preshows for the ride in? At Great America, people get bored by 1 preshow, and those people have to suffer with 3 preshows if they want to ride it again. It's no shock there is fire on the ride. They have fire, music effects, and fog on all the coasters they changed, or are brand new besides the mice coasters.
