Belvidere schools close because of it. A bank down the street from me, my mom has to work with the person and their boss has swine flu from what doctors are saying. It may or may not be. It's turning into a huge deal that really isn't needed. But that's the news you have to learn to deal with.

I was simply amazed to not get any weird looks for coughing. However, I did see a few groups with face mask on in the parks (as well as a school group that had kids wearing science class style goggles.)
When I showed up to work today, my boss ran up to me and told me there was a HUGE swine flu outbreak earlier in the store. Someone got it after they browsed through the children's section, and began sneezing violently. As the contaminated customer rushed to leaved the store he/she continued to sneeze uncontrollably, and it was sprayed all over other customers.
We called the police, and hazmat crew came out to do a sweep of the store. We told them we believe the woman began sneezing in the children's section, so they looked over there. They brought back this picture...
Its called a PAN-demic for a reason...people are PANicking because the media knows how to make money. When the media declares that this flu has the power to kill your teenage kids, adults start watching CNN 24/7.
There isn't much point in shutting things down to try and stop the spread of this flu because its already gotten too far for that point. Pretty much all you can do is wait and hope it doesn't mutate into something more deadly. Until then, remember what FParker said about the REAL flu.

All the frenzy that the media is raking up (that part left out of the article) has caused people to start hording anti virals which creates a high possibility of creating a version of this virus that can't be treated with current medications. Though so far shows it really doesn't need to be.

Exactly, because the US government wants a little population control so less tax dollars from citizens can come into the already debt loaded government.
