Holiday World has a video up of the boat dropping down and into the water. Elevator isnt ready yet so they hoisted the boat up with a crane. I have to say, it looks pretty impressive with that size drop and the splash is pretty big.

I finally retired the Sarah Palin signature because she is now 100% irrelevant.

My guess is they didn't have the current of water moving in the lane. They just wanted to drop it this time around it looks like.

I've been following Paula on twitter these past couple days...

Like Chitown said, they really just wanted to check out the drop on this. Once they feel satisfied with this round of testing just that, they'll drain the water and make any track adjustments and figure out what the water levels should be for next time.

Looks very impressive though, and I'm very excited to head down there this summer!

Personally that whole ride looks wrong. From the elevator to the drop to the OTSRs :?

I guess I will have to make a final call once I rode it though.

They aren't otsrs.
They just have the hook around into the headrest like other intamins, but there's only a lapbar.

Or im just completely wrong. Oh well. Suits myself.

Nope, you're right, just a lapbar. It's the same as the newer style Intamin OTSR's but without the vest part, so it is indeed just a lap bar when it's down with nothing at all around your upper body.
