I'm at the park now and having a fantastic time. I personally have never been here when it's been so empty. Batman and superman have been walk ons. Hope everyone else who came for opening day is having as much fun as me and my friend are.
^^ Oh my, I'm sorry about the accident...I was in a pretty bad one back in August...they are killer!!! Ugh, sorry you weren't in the condition to ride rollercoasters!
"For whether you eat, drink, and whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God." 1st Corinthians 10:31
Was a very good day to be at the park!!! The wind made it chilly but easily managable with proper clothing, though I saw some kids wearing shorts.
Lines were very short, most rides were walk ons, even got a walk on front row ride on BTR even though it was on one train operation all day, as were alot of rides. Even re-rides on TDK
The park seemed to be very well staffed for this time of year, and clean. They had the new M & M candy store open, and I saw people working inside of the internet cafe but it wasnt open early in the day and forgot to check back later. The new water ride still seems like it needs alot of work done on it and the new Johnny Rockets stand seems to be about half way done. All the major rides were running except v2.
Thats all I can think of for now, and it was a very good way to start off the new year, but if it is busier tomorrow I could see long lines on BTR/Eagle as each only had one train operational with the second train still in parts on the side, which is also the case for the 3rd RB train.
I've never seen it that empty. The only line I saw appeared to be in the pass processing building. I was reminded why I stopped riding Iron Wolf 3 years ago. Luckily, I went on it after breezing on everything else multiple times a re-riding 5 and 6 times on most as I had to leave after IW due to headache.
I'm going to remember the mayor of Gurnee being there to open things the next time I hear about residents fighting new ride permits.
Here's the new sign. The sign itself seems too "plain", the old one looked better but now that I think about it, I wonder what 10 years of Chicago weather did to it...
PTR coming soon...

I think that it could look way better if they stained the wood in the background to match the rest of the wood in the area. Other than that its not that bad.
Edit: Now that I have looked at it for a little while, I think its good that it stands out more. The old sign blended in and made it harder for people to find the entrance to RB.
For Dark Knight, in the preshow everyone was standing in a line the whole way through. The people didn't get you are supposed to cram in there. Hometown Fun Machine has it's sign moved. It's like connected to the fence right now (I guess it's a new sign.). I don't know if it's going to stay that way, and the ride wasn't open. The coke things were everywhere. The most annoying coke garbage thing (This is where you put your coke cans in to put in garbage.) was the one in the Batman the Ride line. That really is in the way right before you go into the rows.
Batman the Ride now has another gate in the station. No more turnstyle. The turnstyle is instead in the tunnel. The employee opens up the gate, and closes it manually. This will definitely make capacity better for the ride because that turnstyle is slow for people to leave. There is a newly designed shop (There was a shop there before though, but it looks much different.) near the County Fair market, or whatever you call that food area.
They now have lanyards according to the season pass booklet, and I saw in the Heroes shop that they were selling pins. It sounds like the Disney pin trading thing to me. I guess the locker people have money now. They all have pouches, and I'm guessing that if you need change for lockers, they will give them to you. There is a new ladder climbing game to the right of the Rue Le Dodge. The Dark Knight screen has partial yellow tint on it only after a year of use. On the turnstyle when exiting it says on it See you Really Soon. Disney could sue them for that.
The basketball game that used to be across from the Orbit is now in back of the wall dismantled (by Demon). They have the basketball 3 pointer game there instead (the one that was near the Deja Vu area). They have big board outside the gate that says what's open and what's not before you come in. The most important thing (to me anyway) is that they says they are cleanest Theme Park (banners and while you walk in). All the rides (besides water obviously and V2) weren't always open. They would open certain rides at a certain time. Ricochet and Orbit maybe didn't open till 2 pm. It looked like the Martha's Chicken got a new sign, but I don't know because I don't really care about that place.
The Funnel Cake place is still there in Orleans Place. Antione's. I thought it was going to go away??? There is a Cyber Cafe near it though.
Longest wait for me was Whizzer, and the Dark Knight.
