Just a Thought for 2004...

Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.
Postby SFGAMan on October 25th, 2003, 11:07 pm
I was looking at some pics (holydumb26's to be exact) from today and yesterday and in them there was a sign that said 'construction area, keep out" by Power Dive and then All the cars are off of Triple Play and now behind a trailer in the employee parking lot. Now my thought is that if you've ever noticed, Triple Play and power dive are very close to each other with just some trees and grass in between. Could the construction and removal be part of putting a new flat in the spot where Power and Triple Play sit. That would include their plots of land and also the land in between. Now we've heard the rumor that we're getting a ride like Delirium next year and I think that if we took Triple Play out and used the area in bewteen, we could easily fit one. Could this be a possibiluty? What do you think?Oh, to show you how Power Dive and Triple Play are basically next to each other from this 2001 map, look where Triple Play is and where Power Dive is. Pretty close and only grass is in between.

I wouldn't worry about it. Think East River Crawler.

There is a service road between the two rides along with the tracks for the trolleys and floats. There is no way they would block the servide road.

I guess you're right but can anyone explain the "construction area, keep out" sign by Power Dive?

The ride mechanics are doing demolition on Power Dive in their spare time I would think. I have noticed more and more of Power Dive leaving during this past season.

For say they are building a ride in that spot for 2004. I still think they should get a Screaming Squirrel instead. I read a full review about the ride on thrillnetwork.com from the first trial out in Utah. Everyone says that its one hell of a ride. Costs under 2 mil and takes barely no space at all. Six Flags low budget for 2004 could easily bring this in but either way a new ride for 2004 is better that none at all. Triple Play though is one of my favorite flats at the park.

For 2004 they should just put the shockwave back up. Heck, the ride is already there.

Well didn't PGA put a stadn up in between the two? They can make an artifical hill over the emploeye are making lots of spce for a ride. Disney does that all the time. If they take out another Marriott ride for anything but shockwave I will be Pi$$ed.

I really hope they move Shockwave off of the property. That way some you will put this fantasy to rest of them re-building it in the park. Its not going to happen. Either Shockwave goes to another SF park or it will be history.

No, Chitown, they should rebuild Shockwave! They will have it open for one day only, to anyone who posted anywhere on the internet that it should be rebuilt at the park. Then, to everyone's surprise, the restraints are all broken, so after they are pulled down, they'll never be released. After 10 or 20 hours, maybe the irreparable brain damage will cause them to never speak of Shockwave again.

There are no more Sky Whirl parts, just the cages. The rest is gone.

GA2003. Why are they holding on to the cages? They used some of them for the Scooby Doo train which was a nice surprise but that obviously isn't the reason for keeping them.Do you know?

Beats me. I'd figure they might be able to make some $$$ if they sold them to enthusiasts.Nobody knows why the park holds anything. That whole area behind that huge fence by Roaring Rapids is filled with all sorts of junk. They still have the old rubber-tired locomotive (when it bashed through the wall) from the Wild West Stunt Show (damn that was a cool show)Tons of stuff. The old kiddie bumper cars are racked out there, about 50 Raceway cars are just sitting in the dirt, old lamp posts and lamps, the outdoor TV weather shields, lots of old decoration stuff, the parking lot tram, about 20 trucks (wheel sets) for the railroad coaches, parts of the rides from the Hometown Kiddies, Power Dive. You name it, its back there.

They still have the trams back there? Whoa!!They really need to start using those again. When I park in the backlot halfway deep, those trams would come in handy.

They only have one left. They used to use it on the B.O.O. Line. Put skeletons in it and such. I heard that it wouldn't start this year so ley left it.
