It was in fact kept standing for that reason. And it's noise level was similar to Iron Wolf, maybe just a bit louder. Was Nylon wheels on hollow steel track. The anti rollback on the lift was also quite loud if I remember right, and the train would bang around the track moreso than roll. It made a pretty good racket.

^^^lol From the recent photos from screamscape it appears very little has been done it is weird thinking in about 5 months they will have this massive new ride with a "fly-through station" WTH?
A fly through station is when part of the rides track goes through the station so it speeds by everyone waiting, as seen on other GCI coasters like Thunderhead and Renegade.
Terminator will be built by the same crew that is currently working on Prowler at Worlds of Fun which is not to far from completion. When they are done at WoF they will move their whole operation to SFMM. I think most of the bents are assembled already along with the foundation completed at SFMM, I would think it would take a month tops to erect the structure with another 1-2 months for tracking and all the other systems on the coaster to be installed.

So I get a call from GCI yesterday "Terminator has gone VERTICAL! Go get pics!" And of course since I always do what I'm told, I now bring you a new Terminator construction update! Yes, the ride is now vertical! YAY!!! I'm told that about 70 bents will be in place by Monday and a lot of progress is going to happen very quickly.
Here are the photos from today: "Please excuse our mess - the Governator will be arriving soon!"
Ahh, looks like one of the older structures at the park, the shooting gallery, has been removed to make way for...OMG...what is that I see?
YES! Terminator has gone VERTICAL!!!
Makes you wonder if these structures may not be around much longer now that we know a Cold Stone is going in at the front of the park and there has been the hint of new bathrooms on the horizon.
This view will once again have a wooden structure behind it soon!
Bents started going up on Friday, and here is what has been done so far.
As you can see, it's Saturday, and bents are still being put up.
They put this one in place while I was here taking pictures.
Ahh, those little blocks of wood make great merchandise! Just stamp the Terminator logo on it and you've got something that every coaster enthusiast will buy just like Holiday World and other parks do! (hint, hint) One man's left over wood is a gold mine to coaster geeks!
Internet world, meet Mr. Small Crane...hopefully we'll see his cousin Mr. Big Crane in some future updates.
Another shot of the OMG VERTICAL CONSTRUCTION!!!
These guys are just waiting their turn.
More Popsicle sticks.
Yup, the back area of the park is looking wooden again!
And now...all the photos you just saw...but from the SKY TOWER!! Oooooh...
Hmm...bents being prepared to go up, or alien spaceship landing spot...you decide!
That's a LOT of popsicle sticks!
I like how it just looks like a "pile of bents" just thrown there! LOL! (We see you nice and newly painted Deja Vu!)
Here's a nice overview of the vertical construction, the alien landing pad, newly painted Deja Vu, the pile 'o bents, and lots of popsicle sticks.
GRRR!!! A spaceship had landed and taken off and we *just* missed it!
Goodbye shooting gallery! Hopefully this area will eventually be the new entrance to the Terminator ride. I think that would be awesome!
You can really see how much room is already opened up and how much more room could be created if the other two buildings came down.
Hmm...eventually cables there?
Another overview. As you can see the ride is going to be BIG!
And finally, one last look at the progress. I have a feeling that we'll see a lot of work by next weekend!
And yes, Deja Vu looks GREAT!
Not much activity here.
We see you Riddler's train!
It's nice to see that the Sky Tower museum is still looking great!
If you know what coaster this is and where it currently is operating, email Dan the answer! mrt0ad13@aol.com
We like the more flags, more fun guy, but who doesn't miss Mr. Six?
Still have a bit of work to do on the Q-Bot area. Looking forward to this getting done!

Area still looks small and can't see it yet how Terminator will eventually get so big like in the previews. Deja looks good. Wonder if it be closed till Terminator opens in May? Do they really have room for ANOTHER coaster there in 2010? They better not be getting the first Six Flags dive machine. They shouldn't get everything.
Today we were able to go backstage to get a bit closer to the latest progress. Here you can see the turn around from last week is nearly done!
Those popsicle sticks have finally found their place in life!
The ride is coming along VERY fast. That's quite a bit put up just in the past 7 days.
Some close up shots for Joe.
"It's the end of the ride as we know it..."
There's more there, it's just cloaked using T-2000 futuristic technology.
More closeups for Joe!
Getting tired of looking at the turn around? No? GOOD!
Radar dish to communicate with other life forms. (Terminators need this kind of equipment)
Another look at, yep, the turn around!
More popsicle sticks waiting for love.
Hey look! There's another section going up!
Another overview of the middle section.
Here is where the Shooting Gallery once stood. I'm told this will be the entrance area to the coaster.
A bridge will someday be built here.
Bridgey, Bridge, Bridge, Bridge, Bridge.
Weather was FANTASTIC to be out taking dirt pictures today!
More Dirt. More Popsicle Sticks. Cones, Cones, Cones...
Mud...why did it have to be mud.
Here you can see Terminator starting to sneak up over the fence.
This building will soon be the new Johnny Rockets Snakes and Pies...errr...Shakes and Fries!
And the Ice Cream Shop at the front of the park will be a full service Cold Stone! (The Cold Stone at the back of the park is staying, too!)
The Sky Tower offers an awesome view of the progress.
There's that new little section hiding behind the freshly painted Deja Vu!
Popsicle Sticky sticks.
The lumber supply is getting lower and lower (and Leon's getting LARGER!!!)
Looks awesome!!!
The little section being built. It's so cute! You just want to reach out and pet it...c'mon go ahead...pet your screen! Do it! In fact, take a picture of you petting your screen and EMAIL DAN with the picture: mrt0ad13@aol.com (include your mailing address with your picture and we'll send you a TPR Bag-of-Crap!)
I'm TELLING you! This whole Terminator theme is just a cover up for Goliath 2!
Once this area is cleared of wood, it would make the PERFECT place for a Terminator Opening Day Campout (hint, hint!)
Here's an overview of the entire site.
Traffic Jam.
I haven't taken an overview "park photo" in a while...so here's one! Enjoy!
Arrow Fun Junction.
Q-Bot area still looking like two evil faces under construction.
The Yo-Yo gets a bit of love.
New for 2009! Fresh Paint!
It's nice to see the older rides getting some care.
And finally we leave you with the Customer Service Policy. Words to live by! Until next week....
A big THANK YOU goes out to Six Flags Magic Mountain for giving us access to take these photos.
Coming alone nicely and good to know they work even on Sundays (WTF?). It is really a head scracther to think Shapiro said they will get another ride in 2010. Lucky basturds.
Mr. Six is BACK!!! That's right! Today's update starts with something more important than Terminator...the return of the old dancing guy and I have to say I'm glad to have him back!
Anyway, on to some Terminator photos! It's a Saturday and these guys never get a day off...it's because they are ROBOTS! Duh!
You wanted sexy curves? You got 'em!
The bottom of the structure sure looks dense! I guess it needs to be with the California earthquakes.
These two sections keep looking better and better.
More Terminators hard at work.
You can easily spot the Terminators since they all wear bright orange vests!
See!
Here you can see the new bridge that will be the rides entrance is starting to get worked on.
And another look at the future bridge.
And OMG! Another look at the future bridge!
Yeah, I know we've seen this before, but doesn't it look better closer up?
We see you Mr. First Drop getting installed!
Here's a good overview of the progress this week.
Mud...why did it have to be mud?
I think by West Coast Bash the ride will almost be done!
This Terminator update, along with the Bryan and Adam Show is brought to you by delicious, refreshing, tasty, and fizzy Coca-Cola.
OMG! SIGNATURE SHOT!!!
You can see a lot more of the first drop has gone up since last week.
Popsicle Sticky Sticks.
Hello Goliath Sign!
Don't try to hide! We see you behind Deja Vu!
The new entrance area from the Sky Tower.
Across from the Deja Vu entrance is the new Johnny Rockets Snakes & Pies! Sorry, I mean Shakes and Fries.
Thrill Shot was running today!
Look! Dueling Arrows!
Rapids is still down for the count. Looks like a lot of work is being done.
The boats wait patiently to go back home.
TPR Member Sighting! Crazy4Coasters and Itnotfair. And no, they aren't the cute couple as they look like here, they just both happened to be at the park at the same time!
Jeff was also here doing his "I look older than dirt" impression.
We also got a sneak peek inside the new Cold Stone at the front of the park.
This location will have mix-ins just like all the others!
Ooooh....yummy!
"I will take Butterfingers and Reese's please!"
Wow! Her and I have something in common. Maybe I should get her number! (BTW, Hi Dino!)
Don't forget to get your 2009 Play Pass!
And if you are local to Six Flags Magic Mountain and want to check out working at the park, stop by the 2009 Job Fair!
Which one is older?
See you next week!

Theme Park Review's 2010 Trips: http://www.themeparkreview.com/trips/
Today's Terminator update begins with a shot of the first drop looking pretty much complete!
Here's the signauture overview shot thanks to Mr. Sky Tower.
You can see a lot of REALLY BIG popsicle sticks stitting out there. Lift Hill perhaps?
More popsicle sticks. The supply is certainly getting depleted. They need to send out more decepticons to collect energon in order to create more.
This area still looks about the same.
Not much has changed here.
From the fround level it looks very similar to last week.
CLOSE UP VIEW!!!
Terminator Salvation: The Ride and Deja Vu are a good mix!
Fence crack view.
Pretty!
Peep hole view #1.
Peep Hole View #2
We see you Mr. Sneaky Terminator!
Today was a BEAUTIFUL day to be at the park!
Here's an update from the rest of the park....
I'm kind of bummed the bridge got removed. It really seemed to add something to this area.
Does anyone know what used to be here? The first 5 people to email the answer to Dan win a TPR Bag-of-Crap! The first person to send a PICTURE to Dan of what used to be here gets a HUGE box of crap! EMAIL DAN: mrt0ad13@aol.com
Did I mention today was BEAUTIFUL???
Candy lady hard at work makes me happy!
Wow! Looks like the new Flash Pass center is almost ready to open!
Here you can get an idea of what rides will be available (the ride list can change day-to-day though)
Looks like a few more signs need to get placed.
Add X2 to your flash pass for just $5! You'll be given a reservation time in which to go to X2.
The pricing is very interesting. If these are the final prices, then the upgrade to Gold is a no-brainer!
You can get a sneak peek inside of the cash registers.
Pre-show room! "How to use your Q-Bot!"
The blah, blah, blah, part of the show...
Blah, blah, blah part deux!
Oh, look! They now have them electric buggies for people like Jeff Johnson.
....Or...um...Robb.
Cold Stone is now open! Yay!
Today was the 2nd day of the Magic Mountain job fair! Let's have a look around...

Theme Park Review's 2010 Trips: http://www.themeparkreview.com/trips/
Big difference this past week? Deja Vu is back open at SFMM. Here's a thought...If SFMM gets a big ride for 2010 where could it go? Could the park be preparing for the time that they finally remove Deja and bring in a ride with less maintenance issues?
Dude they wouldnt have painted it, especially with the nice expensive super UV paint if they were planning on getting rid of it later this year . And yeah SFGAm painted the supports in 05 but they werent planning on removing it then.
Painting means nothing everyone should keep rides looking nice for when they are put on the market to be sold and besides it is not like they spent 2 million painting it. They needed to in a way so it looks better when people pass by to go on Terminator.
...and they painted Viper last year so it looks nice next to the new ride (X2), and they painted Sky Tower in 06 so it looks nice next to the new ride (Tatsu). I dont think either of those are being removed anytime soon.
Painting does not mean the ride is irreplaceable. The park is running out of areas to build new rides they will have to eventually put them in place in existing budget draining rides which have a lot of downtime (whether or not it is more maintenance or whatever).
According to new reports Tidal Wave will be out the door this year and that space combined with the former Free Fall tower will open up enough room for a "family coaster".
