Mack Rides new project (update:media day)

Talk about anything that has to do with the amusement park industry here.

That is what Mack Rides is building at their park, that being Europa Park, it's LSM launched, has 4 inversions, has a dark ride section underground before the launch, will run 5 trains, and restraints will be a lapbar. Also it's Mack's very first attempt at a looping coaster.

Only reason I bring it up, besides it looking like a pretty sweet ride, and soon it will be nearly fully encased in rock formations, but it seems Six Flags has a thing going on with Mack. I personally wouldn't mind seeing something of the like at US Six Flags parks.

It looks like a pretty neat ride. Mack has been around for quite a long time, so it's cool to see that they're trying something new.

Minds think alike cause I said almost the same thing on 12/11

Depending on How well Blue Fire does at Europa, I say Scrap Raging Cajun or Put it up for Auction and add a Mack LIM Coaster there that goes around/below the edge of the picnic grove, has a Helix around the Former Wilderness Theater and a Few Inversions.

I just thought they would go with Mack after the Love Affair Six Flags has with them (Dark Knight, Buccaneer) after Mack gave them a 2-3 Day Tour Of Europa Park for Free.

It does look neat and I would welcome anything that is not remotely family-oriented. I do, however, hope Six Flags does not go to the same company for all their future ride ideas and actually makes some more creative choices. MACK is not the only one who can make inexpensive rides.

New construction site pictures taken by park officials (lots from cranes and the scaffolding around the ride), looking good.

Wow...I gotta say, I've been very Anti-New Coasters for Six Flags for the past few years, and while I loved Dark Knight (For what it was) I thought it was an unnecessary addition. But honestly, if we were to be adding a coaster in the next few years, I'd love one of these. We lack a GOOD launched coaster, or if you think V2 is good then we lack a complete launched coaster, and we also lack a mega-looper. Now I'm not saying that Six Flags should drop everything and add one of these, but If it does well at Europa Park, I can definitely see them looking into this. And Honestly...I'd prefer it over a Dive machine, anyone who still thinks they are awesome and wants one at SFGAm hasn't been on one.
Why do we fall, Master Bruce?
So we can learn to pick ourselves up.

Hmm, reminds me of Intamin. It is all pretty much the same thing Intamin would do, except that big hill would be a vertical hill with a top hat. Although, it does look like a pretty sweet ride.

And this would be the perfect kind of coaster to add to a Six Flags park.

Just wanted to post this, that is the final seat/restraint design for this coaster.

No OTSR's! Looks like a cool ride and as stated before, looks sort of like an Intamin.

There is a little update, all the rock work is going in place, I guess it's around 1/4 done according to hearsay. They are also pulling the car chassis through the ride as seen at

http://eprust.free.fr/060209c.jpg

The chassis looks interesting. Looks like Mack looked what what B&M uses and said "How can me make it better?"

There is one of it's first reduced speed test runs. Those are just the chassis traversing the course, decoration and seats and all that other good stuff will be added later. From what I can translate from other sites, the main launch will become faster, but the mid course launch off the mid course brakes will stay about the same, which is probably good, it hauls ass through that heartline.

Media day was today, it's not entirely landscaped but lots of good pics, including the dark ride section of the coaster.
