Talk about anything that has to do with the amusement park industry here.

Whatever happened to the little drops before the big drops on older B&M rides? The newer ones dont have little drops anymore(behemoth, Led Zepplin, Diamondback) yeah i know some of them didnt have them like nitro but i was just wondering

the B&M pre drop hasnt been used in a while, except for on inverts...

yeah after checking the most recent (non invert) to use the dip was Daemonen at Tivoli Gardens...a sham for the speed coasters but no big loss for the others
I'm irreverent and stuff...

It's not that big of a deal. I never really noticed the difference...

Well I know for fact, that the purpose of pre drop on coasters is to put way less pressure on chain. I have no idea how it works, I just know it from some science article that talked about coasters.

I always thought the pre-drop gave some more speed for the drop to bring more negative Gs. I have never ridden a mega or hyper without a pre drop, so I wouldn't know the difference if there is one.

^It's not a huge difference, in my opinion.

Never noticed a difference.

Because once with a pre-drop have a more gradual angle of decent. So the airtime is the same. You just loose the sudden kick.

The little drops can really throw you out of your seat if your towards the back rows.

Other than that, Im not really sure why they did it...

They are there to ease pressure on the chain dogs near the back of the train as the front starts going down the drop. Not sure why they arent on the new coasters, maybe better material.

I have a B&M Packet from IAAPA and it says that the Kicker is not needed because of newer and stronger chain and chain dog alloys.
