Hard Rock Park will not open in 2009 if buyer isn't found.

Talk about anything that has to do with the amusement park industry here.

Ouch. That sucks.

http://www.myrtlebeachonline.com/news/l ... 51785.html

If they can't find a buyer, they have pretty much new rides that will have to be liquidated including that good looking B&M looper (Led Zeppelin).
I finally retired the Sarah Palin signature because she is now 100% irrelevant.

sounds sorta like Wild West World, though that place only made it a few weeks before closing.

Other than the awesome theme, LZ doesnt look like anything special. Moody Blues looks like, by far, the best ride in the park. Its hard to imagine any company willing to take on that much debt for a park that did so poorly. Really a shame, HRP looks like a very nice park.

Regardless, LZ would be a hit with the GP no matter what park it goes into (especially a park like SFGAm which lacks a large scale looper).

It looks fun to me (not high thrill perhaps) but fun.

Looks average, and nothing special. I only like the trains, and the color of the track and supports. Otherwise, it looks like it pulls no Gs, it looks pretty slow going through the elements, and a straight drop for a looper isn't always fun.

Incredible Hulk is by far the best B&M looper, I think.

It's too bad it didn't work out for them. Something makes me doubt that anyone will be willing to buy the park. That would be nice if Six Flags or Cedar Fair picked up a few of those rides though.

It was a good idea for the park, just bad timing within the economy. I really hope that someone comes forth and tries to get something going with this park.

As I stated, I was assuming that. It was an observation. If you have ridden it and it goes to 4 or something, just say it. I'm allowed to have my own opinion.

if stuff goes up for sale, probably nobody

From all reports Maximum RPM was a very short and not very interesting ride, it was a maintenance nightmare especially the ferris wheel lift, and due to the ferris wheel lift it had *EXTREMELY* slow loading.

I think someone will buy the park. I was reading some trip reports, and looked at some pictures, and it looks like a very nice park. I like how everything flows, and there aren't fences everywhere.

Wonder where the coasters are going. Plus I really hope someone picks up Nights and White Satin but odds are it won't.

/\ Knights in White Satin is built in an old shopping mall and is distinctly HRP. Worked great there but I dont think it would fit in any other park. I mean, theming a dark ride after being high works fine in a 60s British themed area in a Rockin' Roll Park, but I acnt imagine it working anywhere else on the planet .

PARC management was interested but did not place a bid. It does not surprise me, not only is there an issue of can the place be successful in that market, but theres also way too much debt for any company to take on aquiring that park to think anyone would want it.

Heres a good article about HRP: http://www.myrtlebeachonline.com/business/story/708042.html

^ Yeah. I'm not a big fan of the ride after the cobra roll.

Hard Rock Park looks interesting, but I think they tried to start off thinking they were much bigger of a park then they actually are.

Coaster Justin, I'm surprised you didn't suggest that Hard Rock Park gets new timberliner trains for Led Zeppelin.

I know I'm double posting, but right now I'm listening to the December 22nd edition of coasterbuzz podcast through itunes and they're talking about Hard Rock Park a lot. Check it out if you're interested. It's free, but somewhat boring.

Well Ben_the_Bear, Gravity Group's- Timberliner Trains are for Wooden Coasters ONLY. Led Zeppelin is a Steel Coaster. I'm not that stupid.
