Q&A session with Shapiro from Orlando.

Talk about anything that has to do with the amusement park industry here.

A nice Q&A with the SF CEO discussing the overseas projects, the strategy he has implemented with the U.S. parks, etc.

This man gets it. Sorry if you one track minded thrill seekers can't see it.
I finally retired the Sarah Palin signature because she is now 100% irrelevant.

I somewhat agree with him. I think that the only way their gunna go anywhere is by bringing in families to their parks. It's good that they understand that it's not a one year thing where they can pop up a new kiddie section and expect families to start coming to the parks again. I think that they'll still build some coasters, but not as many and not coasters over $10mil. There are a lot of really good <$10 million coasters out there, they just need to figure out how to build cheap, medium sized coasters that will be fun for everyone to ride. Europa Park seems to have this figured out.

Major Gravity Group coasters have been under $10 million . And those are great for thrill seekers and family's. Not saying we need one at out park, but GG can really think of almost anything to fit anywhere.

I honestly don't see another woodie going here. 2 is just the right amount for any park I think. We aren't getting anything but HH expansion until at least 2011/2012 my gut is telling me. R-e-c-e-s-s-i-o-n

The only reason the park got Dark Knight was because it can be a thrill seeker ride but is geared towards FAMILIES too. It was under 8 million and the movie was a nice tie-in. Give it another 3-4 years for a big thrill ride.

I have the feeling our next coaster might be expensive but good.

WARNING MY IDEAS!!
Let Iron Wolf live out a few more years until the park has enough money to put into an investment like Maverick, Something like that would fit nicely in that spot I think.

^ A coaster like that would cost well over $15 million. I was thinking along the lines of mack water coaster, euro fighter, or anything else that's small, but packs a fun ride for everyone.

Depending on How well Blue Fire does at Europa, I say Scrap Raging Cajun or Put it up for Auction and add a Mack LIM Coaster there that goes around/below the edge of the picnic grove, has a Helix around the Former Wilderness Theater and a Few Inversions.

Zamperla, Huss, Mack, Intamin, Chance, Vekoma all make rides for under 10 Million Dollars. Heck An S&S 40 Passenger Screaming Swings in 2006 costs 6 Million Dollars and has a 48" Height Requirement.

Is there even a person here that does not want a screamin' swings?
I would love one, went on the one at SDC.

Instead of a Mack LIM how about an S&S air launch coaster. Non inversion but still amazing. If any of you have been on Powder Keg at SDC you would see what I mean, After all that is my favorite coaster of all time.

S&S Would Work, I just thought they would go with Mack after the Love Affair Six Flags has with them (Dark Knight, Buccaneer) after Mack gave them a 2-3 Day Tour Of Europa Park for Free.

I don't see what everyone sees in these S&S Swings, they are hands down the most boring flat rides I have ridden. I don't even bother riding them when I come across them. Also if this 6 million dollar figure that has been mentioned is accurate, that's way to much for any flat ride for any park.
