1. of, pertaining to, or of the nature of sediment.
2. Geology. formed by the deposition of sediment, as certain rocks.

I'd have to agree with Parker that GAm isn't short on land.

Sedimentary? I see it leaving sooner maybe 2-4 years maybe. They look to increase sales and attendance any way they can. If they figure they can add something better to draw more people they will not hesitate to take Demon down. Because of its age and model, I don't see many parks making offers for the ride. Even Silverwood has a Demon-type.

I dont know if we should really put a finite time period for Demon to be removed, but as SFGAm07 said the park does their annual upkeep projects on Demon to keep it running, though that is the first step in a rides removal, when you have to have a special program just for one ride to keep it running. But Demon will be removed one day when either the park or SF Corp. looks at the ride and decides that the labor and money they are putting into keeping it running exceeds the value of it's draw power on the GP. Basically that's how most if not all rides are removed. Cause really any ride can last forever if a park is willing to spend the $$ on it, but when it gets to the point for a ride where you are dumping say, for example, a half million dollars a year into it's upkeep, then it's just not worth it.

This is how Shockwave, Space Shuttle America, Sky Whirl and Deja Vu all were removed, they all cost to much to maintain to warrant spending it when compared to the rides draw power. Cause even for a newer ride like Deja Vu, it was around long enough for most of the GP to know that it operating on any given day was a crap shoot, and when a family is spending upwards of $40-$50 a head to enter the park, they don't go for a ride which they figure has maybe a 25-50% chance of being open, that removes any hint of draw power for a ride. For the rest SSA was an incredibly complex, not all that well designed hydraulic system and the ride was generally a walk on on any given day. Shockwave had some bad habits that made it a liability and on most days after 4pm it was a walk on even after being reduced to 1-2 trains. And Sky Whirl required alot of hard to find parts, it had a completely trashed bearing at the center of the 3 arms, and it's hydraulic system leaked like a sieve.

Now for Whizzer which some around here talk of it's removal, it's got alot of popularity with families, which is bread and butter for Six Flags, so right there it warrants some extra spending, also parts for Whizzer are surprisingly available from multiple sources (W. Schwarzkopf, Gerstlauer and Premier Rides, along with in house fabrication)

If Whizzer leaves Six Flags, all hell will break loose. It's a classic, it's not painful to ride, it's fun, it's pretty much a one-of-a-kind, it's a favorite by many, and it's known for being at Great America.

Whizzer should be satisfied by both families and thrill seekers. It is fun, smooth & thrilling. The turns are the best part. I would be upset if it left. I would rather have Demon and Iron Wolf leave.

The thing with the Demon is it's low minimum height. For those 42 - 48 inches, the only other coasters options are Dark Knight (with parent), Spacely's Sproket Rockets and Whizzer. It's a coaster that for most kids, are their first looper. Plus, the reliablity is overall on Arrow loopers is great. You can also add that the ride actually has a sponsor, which most rides can not say. Plus, it's paid for.

When I was sedimentary i meant that it has a special spot on my list since that was my first looper and pretty much the only one that I would ride when I was just starting to ride coasters. Plus Demon usually never gets dispatched with more than one empty row. It almost always has a line and it is a nice coaster to just take a break from the high thrill for a while, a nice relaxing ride on Demon is just what I need sometimes, and that is just what I have done before, come into the park early in the season when I'm near it and have about 15 extra minutes, just go and ride Demon.

The last I heard Demon has about 5-10 minute wait. The holidays like Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day & Fright Fest usually give it a 20-35 minute line SOMETIMES.

When I was there late August, on a gray weekday, Demon's wait was about 20 minutes.

Its not about wait times, it is about rider input/output..

I wouldn't count on demon going anywhere. Its the perfect bridge between ssr/whizzer to the other 54 inchers. The height restriction is key.
Remember, there's nothing but air beneath the chair.

It probably won't be leaving for awhile, unfortunately. I think that they could fit a nice custom rocket coaster like storm runner in that area/ SWF.

In the end, money talks. Not height restrictions, history or public outcry. If they can find something good for a reasonable price to go there, Demon is outta there. it is a matter of when not if.

Money also talks when you factor in the economy, the even worse shape Six Flags is in, and whether or not a new ride would be cheaper to operate than Demon (which I have no idea how much it costs). It's why V2 will no longer crush your manhood.

Plus look at what some people call Demon, a FAMILY ride.

And what is Shapiero all about??
that is the one reason that a do not completely hate him.

I have spoken to a lot of people & have been going to the park for over 12 years and I have yet to hear anyone call Demon a Family ride. I have heard em call it boring, old, simple, hurtful & soon enough Demon will have the same lines Shockwave had in the end.

Pretty sure that would be a nope but Flashback occupied very little land so it's not that noticeable...I don't think that is where they put Thomas Town in I can't remember.

Nothing has been built there, Flashback was closed while HH was open because of noise distracting the lifeguards I wouldnt expect another coaster to go there.

Man, how noisy could it have been? And why didn't they tear it down sooner? If it was SBNO?
