Dang, its been a long time since I've been on here. I miss it. But when You work at Cedar Point, You aint got time or much a life outside the park. So when you work at the point, it starts to lose its charm but you love it so much at the same time. We just need to get away sometimes. So for an end of the season treat a few of us are planning a trip to the topic post, St. Louis. For anyone whos ever been to the park before please tell me about it. Give me some tips on what to cover first, what is a necessity, if the parks clean, the people there, etc.
i have my good ol' great america pass & the rest of us are gettin tickets online to save. Were stayin at the Holiday Inn next door & well be at the park Sunday, Nov. 9th closing day.
There isnt a hotel by the park besides a Holiday Inn 300 yards walking distance. Stay there cause it was a fantastic hotel with a cool design. Its about 159 a night. There are hotels 5 miles plus away from the park. But they dont off a shuttle.
Dont expect Mr Freeze to be open. In 2001 when I went, it was closed and I was really mad. And when I went in 2006 it was closed. But this summer it was open, but was a long line. But the double station made it onlyhalf an hour. Definately worth it.
Tony Hawks Big Spin, and Superman Tower are 1 hour plus waits. Get there when the park opens and ride them first if you want.
Evil Kneivel is 2 minutes from the entrance. Its always a short line. Its high capactiy line made it a 3 minute wait. And I loved the ride.
The Boss and the Batman are....ehh. Batman is just a mirror image of ours so that means it drops to the right. You never know how the line will be. Long or short. Boss it no line cause it takes for ever to get to the station from the entrance. This ride was 20 times more shaky, back stabbin, ride I have ever been on. You will probably get a massive head ache afterwards. Trust me i do not recoment that.
Ninja is always a short ride and in the back seat is the smoothest. Front and middle are shakier then Demon
Screamin Eagle is a must. Its not too long of a line but its a classic. It has this out andback design and you got to love classic woodies. So I think this is a must.
The water park I dont recommend because it was packes everytime i went.
Go there when the park opens (10) You should get through every coaster by 2 or 3. (I rode every coaster once, but not Superman.) and we were done after 5 hours.
Its a cool park when you go there every 2 years or soo..
SF St. Louis is an exceptional park. It was very clean, and a charming little park. We didn't get the The Boss the two days we were there since the damn thing broke down the first time right as we reached the station, then the park closed. The second time, we got to the station, then the park was hit with a near miss tornado, so we didn't get to ride.
Everything Jerry said is right on the money. Do yourself a favor, and stay at the Holiday Inn. Well worth it.
If it walks like socialist, quacks like socialist, smells like a socialist, .... it's a socialist. Hope, and change we can believe in.
I am planning a trip the last weekend too and asked the people on the St. Louis fan site. They said to expect all the rides except for their Scrambler and Swings to be up. If you use Six Flags season pass parking, you park in the back lot. If I find out anything else, I'll let you know.

I wonder how my uncle survived a marathon on it for 100 days.

When was he on it for 100 days? And its really head shaking in the front. And if you didnt notice, I am not your uncle.

Ill most likely book holiday inn tomarrow after Maverick ERT
If you have a car, I would suggest booking a room at the Days Inn a little further down the road. They have a Fundome there which is an indoor pool, whirlpool, arcade, pool tables, sauna, and bar. The rooms are a little outdated but they are clean and the room is alot cheaper then Holiday Inn with more entertainment offered.

In 2001. He didn't stay on during the night but it was still quite feat. He broke the record a little over a year ago on the Pepsi Max Big One/Big Dipper.

THAT WAS YOUR UNCLE? I was watching that somewhere a few years ago. That's awesome.
It isn't that terrible a drive from downtown St. Louis if I remember from when I went, there's some nice hotels downtown, and a surprising amount to do if you're gonna be there for more than one day.
Ride Scooby, it's more fun than you'd think, and I'm a fan of Screamin' Eagle, but it certainly holds true to its name. There's a Steak N' Shake on the other side of the highway from the park, and it's about 45 degrees in there, so if you dine at that fine establishment, order soup. Lots of soup.
I personally love the Illinois area, which resembles...well, the rest of the park.

Yeah, my mom's brother. It's been awhile since I've seen him. Here's a website somebody made with more info about his career. http://www.rollercoasterfever.com/

Batman the Ride - To me, it's more jerky and rough going the other way. I like SFGAm Batman the Ride way better.
Ninja - This ride is rough. When I rode it awhile ago, I think it might have been rougher than Shockwave.
Boss - This ride is extremely rough, but not Texas Giant rough. It's pain with no payoff for me. It's just this huge coaster all the way on the left side of the park in the back, and there's nothing fun about it.
Tony Hawk - I haven't been since than, so I have no idea. For Evil Kinevil, I have no idea either.
Screamin' Eagle - It's rougher than American Eagle, and so much fun. It's in my opinion what a out and back roller coaster should be. The thing that I just don't like on American Eagle are those helixes. This ride has like half helixes instead of around, and around, and around.
River King Mine Train - This is a mine train ride. To me, it reminds of a smaller Whizzer that's more jerky. I really like the ending even though I think that SFOG, and SFOT have rougher and even better endings. I don't think of this ride as a credit. I think of this ride as a ride I would like to ride 10 times or more in a day when I get out to that park. I don't like Cedar Point's mine train in case you are doing the compaison thing. That one is really boring.
Xcalibur- To me, it reminds me of the Orbit but it's a little different.
Mr. Freeze - This ride is awesome. Screamin' Eagle is my favorite ride at this park, and than Mr. Freeze. Remember though, that it's a short circuit coaster. It's a speedy coaster forwards, and than backwards. Some people just don't like stuff like that, and say those rides are too short. In my opinion, I say it's the best of it's kind that I've ridden (Better than V2, Superman (SFMM), Joker's Jinx, Stunt Coaster, Top Thrill Dragster (Even though Top Thrill isn't LIM or LSM).
Scooby-Doo Ghost Blasters - This is a fun ride. You are in really small boats, and you shoot targets inside themed to Scooby characters.
Thunder Rapids- I remember really liking this one even better than ours. It will probably be too cold, and not open though.
Rush Street Flyer (Falling Star) - If it's open, I would get on this ride. These rides are aging, and probably won't be around much longer.
Riverview Racer (Yo-Yo) - This ride is a complete travesty what Six Flags did to it. They first stripped it down of it's plastic pieces, and sign. Than, they mutilated it by not having a tilt. I also think on these swings they put seats that stick (It's not like glue or anything.) to your pants so you don't move. Way to ruin a great ride Six Flags.

Alls i know is I AM EXCITED.
Most recent weather report is low-mid 50's for the high. Sadly, it will be in the 60's the during the week and get cold on Friday.
Than go to season 3, episode 42. You can download, or play it. It's not my website. This guy walks around certain amusement parks showing some of the more popular rides at these parks.

Theres really not much you need to know before going. SFSTL is pretty small and you should be able to easily do everything and any re-rides you want. Just make sure not to miss Scooby, one of the best rides in the park.
Hmmm...well depends on what you've already been on there, but I'd say your attack plan should be something like:
Tony Hawk's Big Spin (get the lowest capacity credit out of the way first) Mr. Freeze Evel Knievel Boss Screamin' Eagle River King Mine Train Ninja Batman: the Ride
It's a nice park, fairly small and a moderately confusing layout, however you should have no problem getting all the credits there in one visit...
