Final Trip Report of 08

Let us know how your day at the park was.

This is always a sad time of year, even though it falls right by my birthday. It was a fun year for me, especially since I got on a lot of rides for the first time as many of you know. Look for Demon_09 coming soon. :)

Anyway, I left for the park around 11 with my friend, Andrew. I got to the park around 11:50 and I met up with my other friend, Rachel. We rode Triple Pay with a 1-cycle wait for Yellow. (My tradition is now 2 seasons old) Then, my mom and I got our '09 passes processed. Interesting Buccaneer Battle decor. They even have the employees dressed up as pirates now. I have no idea why the passes are orange this year besides the fact you're buying them during Fright Fest. I split up from my parents and the rest of us took off for Orbit. 1-cycle wait as well and Rachel loved it her first time. We met up with my 3rd friend, T.J., and we rode Demon. About a 15 minute wait for front row red car. One thing was different, though. The flames on the station were gone under a layer of grey! I hope this is just a fresh paintjob for '09. Then, T.J. did his own thing while we waited a half hour for Bull red train front row. Awesome ride! We rode GAR for what could be the last time. When we were in line, I think I saw Jonrev with some girl but I can't be sure. Can you confirm this please? Then, Andrew and T.J. bought hamburgers while I sang "Behind Blue Eyes" by The Who. I got a few claps out of it and they shut it down right after. By now, it was 3:00 and T.J. had to leave for work. We headed for Iron Wolf in row 5. Since Andrew felt stuffed, he skipped it. About a 15-20 minute wait but decent and not as headbanging except for the 1st loop. I felt like seeing Mayor Slayor one more time so we headed into Necropolis. I came so close to getting Andrew with the porta potty! I saw BTR's line was at the entrance and I really wasn't in the mood for it so we instead went through Mardi Gras and to Condor. I'm not quite sure why but Andrew puked in line for Condor so Rachel and I went on a little concerned while he waited at the exit. Luckily, he was feeling better so we went on back around the park. We decided to wait the 45 minutes for Viper row 4. I forced Andrew to walk across so me and Rachel rode. Fun as always and I had a great pose for once! We didn't have the time to wait for AE so we instead rode Demon 1 last time. I noticed all the ride ops had sweet Demon sweatshirts with the old logo. They really overdid it with the fog in the 1st and last tunnels which made it a great final ride. I stopped in Trudy's to buy some Trolli gummies for only $1.06. Not bad at all for Six Flags. Most of the day was great and I look forward to seeing what the next season will bring, and take. :?

Rides like Viper/Eagle/Demon/King Chaos MUST have flash pass entrances installed soon. How expensive would it be anyway? 45 minutes for Viper if you paid over $100 for flash passes is unreasonable.

Yeah, luckily, I don't do flash passes. Unless every coaster is over an hour wait, I can handle it and just do flats instead with under-10-minute waits and a few coasters in between.

Would it really be That hard to install flash pass entrances to AE, Viper, Demon, etc.? I'm sure all the other rides didn't have an exact flash pass entrance when they first debuted so they had to figure out something. I don't know why people say American Eagle doesn't have lines. Yes, it does. Even if it is by the stairs you still have to go through the "maze" and then a lengthy wait on the stairs. Flat rides should also be added. Revolution/King Chaos oh and Cajun too since it always has a busy and crowded line.

Does anyone know if the rides are officially closed until testing? Or do employees of the park still have a few days (day) after the public last day to ride the rides one last time in the old season?

When the parks closed to guests, it's closed to us. The last opening day is any employees last chance to ride, but most get the ID taken away and would have to pay to get in.

So the all the rides are done and out until testing begins in the spring? Glad to know employees don't have the honor of riding a few more times after the operating season ends.
