Cold and well cold 10/26

Let us know how your day at the park was.

^ I agree. I waited about 30 minutes for Demon during my last visit, it definitely still gets traffic.
It's a great ride and one of my favorites. I first rode it 25 years ago when I was 4 years old. It's what got me hooked on coasters. I'm very much hoping it's still around in a few years, so I can take my daughter on it. She's 2 now, and only about 31 inches. She needs to grow faster! :D

I hope the day comes when Demon is taken down/moved and we get something in the area as well as Splash Water Falls death site. Those two could work well connected. We all know the park has three rides that are either tough to maintain and/or declining popularity. I don't think the park cares what is a classic or has a great history behind it. If if coasts too much to run every year (Whizzer) or people don't ride it anymore (Just like Shockwave) they don't stand around they take it down.

If it was outdated, people wouldn't ride it. 2nd, you're the first person I've ever heard complain about it "hurting your sides"

If it hurts your sides I really wonder how you are riding it?

Plus like mollysmomma said it was the coaster that got me hooked. Its still one heck of a ride.

Yeah Demon's a good coaster...he hated me for awhile but that was because I hated him. I don't hate him anymore, he doesn't hate me.

Seriously, Demon is just boring and could use a ton of new props/color whatever to make it stand out more. It is really short in terms of ride length. You have what 2 loops and 2 corkscrews? I would rather wait 1 hour for Batman which is equally short then 10-15 minutes for Demon which doesn't even scare 7 year olds. I think you would have more fun on Spacely's Sprocket Rockets than this old crap. We ALL know Demon will eventually bite the dust and I will be the first to have a nice little dance right where it stands today.

BTR is 16 years old, Demon is 32 years old. Its still popular and is a good ride.

I agree, it could use new props and maybe a slight, VERY slight color change but don't give me your crap about it not scaring a 7 year old. It'll scare just about anybody in the back car and you know it.

Yeah, Demon scares people. People who haven't been on any other coaster in their life.

Demons 2nd car has bounced for years, as long as I can remember, on every train.

I rode in the second car for the first time ever this past season (hadn't heard about the bounciness from this forum yet). I thought, with no hesitation, that I was going to die. Going up the lift hill and feeling like one of the wheels just fell off, I thought to myself "Oh my God, this is all how it's going to end. On the Demon." But I lived and suffered through a painful ride. My shoulders haven't been the same since. But I will still ride it, just not in the second car. I'll ride it because it's actually a nice change of pace from what else is in the park. No gimmicks, no tricks. You know exactly what you're going to get and I'm fine with that. It's a roller coaster that certainly benefits from the scenery. It's also the only coaster in the park that utilizes the midway, which I'm always a big fan of. I love roller coasters that intertwine itself with other attractions, Demon is the only one that does.

It's never gonna be removed, partly because of the scenery involved, mainly due to its history. It's one of the staples of this park, and removing it will cause an uproar.

And my first looping coaster at the park was actually Batman. What a good f*** move that was.

And to address an even earlier point. The first half of American Eagle tops the first half of Viper, with the drop and the airtime. But once American Eagle leaves the helix (where I also thought I was going to die), you can take a nap. Viper is consistently thrilling, and the back half of it alone makes it the better woodie in the park in my mind. Now, flip the blue train backwards again and we'll talk.

Money needs to be saved and Demon upkeep is tough on the budget if they feel they could use the space better and simply spend less on such an old ride they will. Nothing matters but the money. Not families. Not history. That is why Whizzer is not going to last forever.

Whizzer upkeep is tough on budget but still attracts people. V2 is very tough on budget but of course is a newer ride and always has a line.

The space issue with the park is major and in the future some stuff will need to be torn down to make room as they can't really expand the park anymore. If a few years from now, hopefully sooner rather than later, they chose to build a big coaster they will need to somehow fit it in an already small park compared to the others in the chain. I say in the next 3-6 years the rides/areas on the chopping block may be:

In no order***
#1 Iron Wolf
#2 Demon
#3 Whizzer
#4 Bugs Bunny National Park
#5 Yankee Clipper
#6 Wilderness Theater
#7 Concert Stage (Forgot the actual name)
