For this trip, I wanted to just have a day with my mom for a change so that's how it started. We arrived around 1:30 and sat in the skywhirl cabins for a few minutes. Then, we saw The Haunted Castle. The beginning was good but the ending was quite odd and rather dissappointing. I honestly don't see how electric guitars and haunted castles go together. After the show, we spotted our neighbors (So much for the me and my mom idea hmm?) They talked and I got in line for Demon with my 8-year old neighbor. Right when we got in line, black train got stuck on the lift so we left and waited for the ride to re-open. When it did, we got in line for like 15 minutes and black train got stuck again! I was pissed so we just left. He used the bathroom and went to The Orbit. It was his first time and he liked it (although the jolt at the end surprised him) Only a 1 cycle wait. After that, we went around the park and into Yankee Harbor. I just want to comment that the actors here get the award. They were always around scaring the living daylights out of people (especially the tall one with the beard, he's the best) My neighbor was begging me to take him on BTR so his mom and mine talked while we waited about an hour for it. The line started at Gotham City Park's entrance using all the switchbacks so eventually, the barking dogs and tweeting birds sound effects got old. We took row 6 and he liked it as I expected. The music was realllllly loud in the station today, though. We walked around a bit and I realized King Chaos's water is no longer dyed red. =/ Eventually, we made it to southwest "scare-itory" which I hadn't visited this FF. I saw a few actors and one greaser character was really getting to this girl by Viper. We split up here so they went and saw the Human Freak Show while we rode Rico-Slay. I like the new signs this year but they don't cover the whole thing. The pighead guy out front is pretty awesome. My mom and I waited 1 cycle and man, did I forget how fun that is. Because I saw Demon started up the fog in 2 out of 3 tunnels, I got my mom on it for her 2nd time. We waited about 30 minutes and rode Red Train car 3. Fun as always although she doesn't particularly like the 1st drop. After that, I decided we should get on Great America Raceway, especially since I've heard rumors that it may not be with us next year. Not a bad wait. Kind of non-scenic but still worth it. With little time left, I decided to check out Rise of The Demon. We thought it was alright but they needed more characters and they really didn't go after you much. I definately would've been mad if I paid 5 bucks for it. It was now dark and we went back to Sevin Sins to ride Rue Le Morgue. They really do that one great but the fog is only on one side of the floor. Oh well, worth the 10 minute wait. To end our night, we got lower level Columbia. We both stayed traditional and rode horses. Now, it's playing Classical music. Different, but better than Rap and Madonna.
