^While you are being fearful of that, you can also worry that the brakes will let the boat go right before it's completely alligned with the track.....
I'm just being mean, i'm sure everything will be planned out, it's not like it's made from a company that has to add supports to rides later on, or add strong harnesses to rides that have tossed riders or anything.

The crashing thing while going up/down the lift is impossible, however Intamin does have a string of braking failures going with Cali Screamin at DCA, and Superman at SFNE, and I honestly wouldn't doubt Intamin not putting any brakes at all on those carts, have them just assume that wet tires can hold the car in place.
Also I'd put money down that what is shown in the animation will be the final support structure for the drop. (well, final in that's how it is when it opens)

SOOOO very very true!!! I went down there a couple years back for The Voyage opening year, and I think Splashin Safari was the first waterpark I DIDN'T enjoy the scenary during....
And I was also wondering, for all you engineers out there, me and my architecture class were wondering how that tower can support it's own weight (the lift portion is what i'm talking about, not the flume). With that curve out midway up, how does that work structurally!? Just curious....

1. Its coming from a Manufacture were there last/only 2 mega chute the chutes has killed....tradition? 2. Impact of the splash down. 3. OTSR, combined with the impact could be bad. 4. The elevator of death.
I don't know, between having only a 45 degree drop and having OTSR's, I don't think many around here, or in the enthusiast circles are going to rave about it all that much.

^It says overhead lapbars in the facts. Is that different than an OTSR? Taking a second look at the animations it seems like the lapbar would come over your head because you can see the restraint attatched on the back of the seat but no restraints are going over the shoulders. Am I just seeing things?
