I got a fun fact: Six Flags invested it's money in a coaster called Deja Vu and built three of them all over the United States. They were so problem stricken, that they demolished most of them in less than 7 years.  RIP: Trailblazer and Deja Vu...heck, even Alien Encounter

Cedar Point facts:
If you took the total distance the Space Spiral has traveled through the years it would reach from the Earth to the moon more than 4 times. The all time ride record for one year was set by the Cedar Point and Lake Erie Railroad. It gave more than 4.5 million rides in 1970. It takes approximately 6 weeks to remove the gum on the ground in roller coaster queue lines and coaster platforms. This does not include any of the gum on the midways or at smaller rides, which takes months. Sagebrush Sue's Food Stand was also once a restroom. On average, the park removes 30,000 pounds of trash each day. When the ride designer of disaster transport approached Cedar Point, the park was told that this design would give a wilder ride than the Gemini. However, the prototype ride held only 5 people per car, sitting single file. Cedar Point responded that, with millions of guests each year, the ride capacity would need to be larger. The designer indicated that the cars could be made double-width, providing the same ride excitement. Well, as the opening approached, the wrong cars were sent -- they were only single width. The cars needed to be modified, thereby delaying the ride's opening. The modified cars did not move as well as expected. New cars were brought in for 1986, providing quite a bit of improvement, but the ride still did not live up to the designer's promises. During the first year that the ride was enclosed, it had some amusing travel posters in the first queue area. For example, on a poster of Walt Disney World, a caption was stamped indicating, "The magic is gone." There was also a poster proclaiming, "Baden Baden, No No!"

 ... but if you look at CP's DORs (daily ridership) it seems most of the rollercoasters are giving less and less rides.

Did you know the rides Revolution and Collossus(sp) rides at SFMM were in the movie Vacation, hysterical movie by the way

Six Flags Magic Mountain was also the infamous lakeside park in the opening credits for the show Step By Step. At the end of the credits, the family is riding Colossus, but is incredibly poorly CGI-ed, as is Lake Michigan right beside the coaster.
Iron Wolf is the roller coaster used in the movie Richie Rich (pretty sure most everyone here knows that).
Splashwater Falls was originally going to be removed after the 2006 season.

-Tatsu at SFMM was sliding down the mountain until SFMM did some major groundwork and built walls surrounding the ride. -The Flying Turns Coaster at Knoebels was supposed to open in 2007, then was supposed to open in 2008, and the ride is still "under construction" and not open (although there are videos of the ride testing from earlier in the spring). -Six Flags Marine World was not allowed to build anything over 150ft tall and built V2 anyway, in 2002 when the city realized the ride was taller than 150ft Six Flags explained that it was not over 150ft above sea level (or something like that)..they ended up having to close the ride down and redesign it to make it 150ft tall. It was repainted red in 2007 to look like a sunset to enhances the parks new theme. -Iron Wolf was painted Jim Wintrodes college colors. -After plans for "Disneys America" fell through in Virgina, Disney was planning on buying Knotts Berry Farm and converting it to Disneys America and drew up plans to retheme the park to Americana themes. The Knotts family decided to sell it to Cedar Fair instead behind the reasoning that CF would keep the scenery in tact, as a result CF pretty much paved over everything and built rides. -DejaVu's original trains did not have the extra padding in the middle of the restraint or up on the sides of the restraint, those were added when they realized tall people could easily reach up and touch the rides limit switches which would break the ride.
